This past television season, viewers and fans said goodbye to their favorite shows, like “The Good Wife,” and welcomed new favorites, like “Supergirl.” Many season finales wrapped things up for the characters and gave some closure to important plot lines, but for a few TV shows, the fans were left wondering, “What is going to happen next?” Here are some cliffhangers that had fans at the edge of their seats, wanting to know more.

“Supergirl”

The TV show based on the DC Comics character finished its debut season with fast action finale episode. Supergirl, who is the cousin of Superman, landed on Earth in a space pod similar to her cousin, but she arrived when her cousin was already saving the world as Superman. The first season follows Supergirl, or Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), as she grows and uses her abilities to become a super hero and protect the Earth from different threats. In the finale, Supergirl, was able to prevent her uncle Non from destroying the earth in an extinction level event after completing a dangerous suicide mission. After being saved by her adoptive sister Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh), they made plans to figure out what truly happened to Alex’s father after recently finding out that he may not be dead. In the middle of their planning, Kara, Alex and their group of friends and colleagues come across a space pod that had made an abrupt landing. The pod was an exact replica of the one that Supergirl came to Earth in. The last scene of the season was everyone reacting to the opening of the pod. The identity of the individual in the pod remains unknown, but discussions of Superman making an appearance in season two has fans wondering if the Man of Steel is in the pod.

“The Walking Dead”

In season six of “The Walking Dead,” one of the main villains of the comic, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) made his long awaited appearance on the series. The season finale showed Negan brutally beating in the skull of an unknown victim as its last scene. Theories of who the victim was have popped up across the Internet and fans have been placing their bets. In the original comic book, the victim is Glenn (portrayed by Steven Yeun on the television show), but after Glenn’s near death experience in season six’s mid season finale, it is possible that he may get a free pass. Whoever is at the other end of the beating, it is safe to say that the AMC television series will keep the fans guessing until the season seven premiere.

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”

The quirky new CW show followed Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) as she tries to win back her first love Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). She follows Josh to his hometown in in southern California and meets Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin), who becomes her partner in trying to win him back. At the time of the season finale, Rebecca and Josh have been able to create a nice friendship and Rebecca has been starting to date Josh’s friend Greg. Paula, who is determined to get Josh and Rebecca together, pulls some strings and gets Rebecca invited to Josh’s sister’s wedding as a bridesmaid. While at the wedding, Josh breaks up with his longtime girlfriend, and Rebecca gets the chance to make her move. While talking to during the wedding reception, Josh admits his feelings for Rebecca, and Rebecca, who suddenly disregards her relationship with Greg, reveals that she feels the same way. The two share a moment of passion accompanied by a music number sung by Lea Salonga (actress and singer who provided the singing voices for Princesses Jasmine and Mulan). After the moment of passion, Rebecca reveals to Josh that she moved to California just for him, a fact that she continued to deny when asked about it previously. After hearing the news, Josh’s face changes from “in love” to “confused and a bit scared.” Surely this event will be an important factor in how things develop in season two, but fans will have to wait and see what Josh does after finding out the truth.

“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”

Everyone’s favorite optimist was back for a second season. During season two, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) is still her quirky and positive self, but this time, her experiences in the bunker and the PTSD from those experiences are catching up to her. This serious nature of the second season allowed for the guest appearances of Tina Fey as Kimmy’s drunken psychologist, and Lisa Kudrow as Kimmy’s roller coaster obsessed mother. The season finale follows Kimmy to Orlando, as she is ready to confront her mother at Universal Studios. In the midst of their confrontation, both Kimmy and her mother had things to get off their chests. Although Kimmy had a rough time of forgiving her mother, this closure was necessary for her healing process. The moments between Kudrow and Kemper were heart warming, but the show did not stop there. At the end of the finale, Kimmy gets a call from the Reverend (Jon Hamm) who kidnapped her kept her in a bunker for 15 years. The Reverend claims to have met someone in prison and wants to get married, but he cannot get married until he and Kimmy get divorced. Having no knowledge of this marriage Kimmy is in for an interesting journey this second season.

“Agents of SHIELD”

The third season finale of the Marvel Studios television show had the series facing off with one of their biggest threats so far. The two-part season finale had the team fighting against Hive, an ancient Inhuman with the ability to control other Inhumans. Hive had the plans of releasing a bomb that would change the DNA billions of people, giving him the ability to control them all. Members of the SHIELD team were able to capture Hive and his bomb and set them into space. Since space had no set coordinates for the jet to follow, one brave member of the team would have to pilot the bomb and Hive into space. Lincoln (Luke Mitchell), a new addition to SHIELD and an Inhuman with the ability to control electricity, sacrificed himself in order to save the world from Hive. Both Mitchell and Chloe Bennet, who portrays Daisy, a SHIELD agent and Lincoln’s girlfriend, gave powerful performances as they spoke to each other moments before Lincoln’s death. After this powerful scene, the show fast-forwards six months, where we find a team of SHIELD agents tracking down a rogue Daisy, who has been using her Inhuman powers to cause earthquakes and rob banks. As Agents Mack (Henry Simmons) and Coulson (Clark Gregg) catch up to Daisy, she gets away. Mack turns to Coulson and mentions calling the director to notify them of Daisy’s escape. Prior to this six-month time jump, Agent Coulson was the director. This jump in time leaves lots of questions open, especially questions considering Daisy’s sudden change of behavior and the identity of the new director.

With these cliffhangers keeping fans waiting, the shows are guaranteed to have viewer tuning in to see what happened to their favorite characters and find out what writers and creators have planned for the next season.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
