For those of us us who love The Bachelorette, we spend most of our time watching The Bachelor just to scope out who we think the next Bachelorette could be. Half the fun of getting to know the girls on each season is predicting who has the combination of a charming personality and stunning good looks it takes to be the Bachelorette. I can honestly say I predicted that it would be Rachel Lindsay once I cheated and peeked at Reality Steve and saw that she didn't win. So why will this season of The Bachelorette be different than the rest?
Well to begin with, Rachel was announced as the Bachelorette before she was eliminated from Nick's season of The Bachelor. That had certainly never happened before. And on After The Final Rose
, she got to meet four of her suitors. Another first!Bachelor Nation is celebrating the fact that Rachel is our next Bachelorette for many reasons. Obviously, she is the first African-American to become a lead on the show, but she is so much more than that. As a successful lawyer from Dallas (second bachelorette in a row, D-town represent!!), Rachel is obviously brilliant and not afraid to call things as she sees them. She's bubbly and beautiful, yet fierce and powerful, a combination that's pretty hard to master. Nick obviously noticed this, since she got the first impression rose.
Rachel is the perfect Bachelorette because of who she is as a person. She remains such close friends with the other girls from Nick's season that you know she has to truly be a total sweetheart. Former contestant Astrid Loch even tweeted "My mom met @TheRachLindsay this weekend and has basically disowned me." She will no doubt see right through the phonies, and hopefully she'll be able to find the man of her dreams this season.
We love The Bachelorette because each woman deserves to find the perfect man, the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with. In the previews for this season, multiple men are shown crying. If that doesn't show the world that Rachel means business, I don't know what will. Go get 'em Rachel!
