Okay it's official. There is another Harry Potter book coming out. Prepare to freak.
Scholastic announced on Feb. 10 that they will publish a script book called "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" based on J.K. Rowling's latest story. Authored by Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, the script will feature Harry Potter 19 years starting directly after the epilogue of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." We last saw Harry letting his oldest son, Albus, on the Hogwarts train. The script picks up directly after that scene.
"Harry is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children," reveals the synopsis. "While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places."
As excitement builds in the Harry Potter universe so does confusion. On Feb. 11 Rowling tweeted "To be clear! The SCRIPT of a #CursedChild is being published. #NotANovel #NotAPrequel"
The script will come out on July 31 2016 at 12:01 am. Coincidentally on both Harry's birthday and Rowling's birthday.
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will be two plays that will debut in London at the Palace Theater on July 30 a few hours before the script is on the shelves.
The play is starring Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione and Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley.
