Sometimes I hate being a human 'cause we have these stupid things called emotions and these stupid things called feelings that we end up catching when we meet really great people and it's just all around stupid.

But sometimes it's great, right?

There's the first attraction...

You see them, they see you, and it's all just a spark of rainbows and butterflies.

You guys hit it off and it's super amazing...

Like seriously, you have so much in common and you could talk about the same stupid crap for hours.

But then, after catching yourself Instagram stalking them for 43 minutes, it hits you.

You've caught the feels...

You've got a crush.

And you've got it hard.

Oh yeah, I went there.

You can deny it all you want...

"I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about this is obviously just nonsense or some stupid emotions trying to get in my head."

Or try to hide from it.

I've heard pillow forts are a great way to distract yourself from your "not crush."

But it's not going away...

No matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to shake the butterflies you get when you think about this significant other, and it's annoying because it's distracting you from every day life. So naturally, you just try to pretend it's not there. You even try to hide it from your friends, but they know your game.

There's no hiding it now.

Let's just hope that they fully support your new crush or else you're in for a three hour montage of why you need to get over this ASAP.

You don't even know what to feel about this person and it's completely throwing your whole system off.

Probably due to the fact that you barely even know them yet.

So naturally, this uncertainty absolutely freaks you the f*&* out.

Do I like them? Do I hate them? Why do I want to talk to them right now?! AHHH.

Whenever you see them, you try to act super nonchalant.

Which never works.

"OH WOW GOSH HI I DIDN'T EVEN SEE YOU THERE EVEN THOUGH I DEFINITELY 100% SAW YOU THERE"

And you probably say something totally embarrassing...

Which makes you want to hide in your pillow fort forever and ever.

Cause playing it cool is definitely not your thing.

Maybe they're into quirky weirdness? *fingers crossed*

Whenever you actually do have a successful interaction, you feel really great about yourself.

Which also makes you kind of excited.

*proceeds to do happy dance*

Crushes can be fun!

Maybe it will lead into something meaningful, which will make all the anxiety 100% worth while! .... kind of.

And if it doesn't work out and you remain a train wreck, just shake it off,

embrace the power of being a happy single individual,

and keep on doin' you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
