While "New Girl" is definitely never short on hilarious characters, Schmidt is by far the most entertaining. He's not always a stand up guy. I mean, he has the most money in the Douche Bag jar hands down, but he has his good qualities too. In fact, some of us could use a little more Schmidt in our daily lives. Let's just take a moment to celebrate Schmidt.
1. He's honest.
Schmidt's never afraid to tell it like it is.
2. He's realistic.
Schmidt knows how to keep it real, even when it's the really difficult topics.
3. He's a good friend.
Schmidt knows what it means to be a friend, just look at his prime bromance with Nick Miller.
4. He's got the moves.
Schmidt has pick-up lines for days. He's golden with the ladies.
5. He's confident.
While being humble is definitely not his forte, he oozes confidence, and there's nothing wrong with that, friends.
6. He's hip as all hell.
He's got this technology thing down pat.
7. He knows how to treat a lady (sometimes).
Schmidt can definitely be a player, but he really tries to treat CeCe like a queen. He screws up sometimes (eh hem, the "White Fang" incident), but he means well.
8. He owns his heritage.
No one's prouder of their Jewishness than this guy.
9. He can smolder for days.
Model-status, right there.
10. He owns up to his faults.
He knows when to own up to his douchebaggery and puts his money where his mouth is.
11. He's ballsy.
Look at him; he's so courageous.
12. He dance-cleans.
It is perhaps the most fun and effective cleaning method.
13. He does what he wants.
Schmidt doesn't take crap from anybody.
14. He's a food connoisseur.
His taste is so fancy. I don't even know what chutney is, to be honest.
15. He's understands fashion.
God forbid he has to wear his bad peacoat. That's just absurd.
16. He knows how to love himself.
You should always be your own boo first.
Schmidt may not be perfect, but he's pretty damn close to it. He not only gives us life goals of impeccable comedic timing and perfect taste, but he shows us that it's okay to screw up every once in a while. Schmidt is by far my favorite character on "New Girl", and he shows us that we could all use a little bit more Schmidt in our lives.
