The struggles of registering for classes in college are enough to send me into a full-fledged panic attack. As you advance in your college career, there are certain classes that you have to take each semester, and trying to make sure you get into them is a real pain in the neck. I hope the following goofy cartoons will soothe your wounds of panic from registration coming up soon.

1. Listening to people talk about how they've registered already.

Upperclassmen always get the short end of the stick when it comes to registering. We have to wait weeks after the freshmen and sophomores start. It always seems a bit unfair to me. They have more options than we do, so why should they go first?

2. When it's the minute before your registration window opens.

My parents/roommates always knew when it was almost time for me to start scheduling. I would screech like a dinosaur and pace back and forth. It wasn't a pretty sight.

3. When you forget the course number/professor's name as soon as you start.

It's so much easier/quicker to just type in the CRN number when registering instead of having to search the course, but I always tend to forget the number. *facepalm*

4. When the class you need is already full when you start registering.

As mentioned previously, this is due to the fact that other students get priority for registering before others. There have been multiple times when I have tried to register for a course I need and the little C is already in front of the course, meaning that's it's closed. Bummer.

5. When the class you have to take only has an 8:30 a.m. option.

This is just plain bologna, and it happens SO OFTEN. Doesn't the university realize I need my 10+ hours of beauty sleep?

6. Trying to make your schedule flow nicely so you won't be in class for 12+ hours.

Nothing like having a six-hour break in between classes. Sure, this time could be used to do homework, but going home and napping sounds like a better idea most of the time. :p

7. When you finally figure everything out.

Once in a blue moon, scheduling will actually go smoothly, and you can put it out of your mind. This is very infrequent, so don't get your hopes up.

8. When you receive the email about not enough people registering for the class so they canceled it, and now you have to rearrange your whole schedule.

This happened to me once a month or so before classes started. I may or may not have shed a few tears when I had to rearrange my entire schedule. :'(

9. When you give up and decide to run away from your problems instead.

This seems like a pretty great option to me. How about you guys? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope your registration experience goes smoother than mine always has. You always can meet with your advisor to help you register as well if you don't feel up to the challenge of doing it yourself. Good luck to all!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
