You Don’t Need To Break The Bank To Have A Blast During Spring Break

Being a college student is hard financially, that does not mean you can't still have an amazing spring break.

I do not know about you but after trudging to school in this snow one too many times, a lot of falls on the icy ground, the sleepless nights and numerous assignments, the one thing I am looking forward too more than an Ed Sheeran concert is spring break. For most of us, our excitement is dulled by merely looking at our account balances. In Kevin Hart's words, "The way my bank account is set up..." Basically, you are coming up short on cash. Here are a few ways you can enjoy your spring break without breaking the bank.

1. Location! Location! Location!

Depending on where your preferred spring break destination is, you can find reasonably priced tickets on third-party websites such as cheapflights, cheap tickets and student universe. But let's face it if you planned to fly, you would have booked your flight way ahead of time to save some more cash. If you can drive to your destination, make a road trip out of it and save some money

2. Accommodation

Instead of spending a lot of money on hotels, save some cash and stay at a hostel instead. Hostels are a cheaper alternative (can be as low as $20/night) plus you get to meet travelers from different countries. The first time I came to Cleveland, I stayed at a hostel. I got to meet people from Ireland and Puerto Rico who were visiting the US for the first time. It was an amazing experience, one I would love to repeat. I mean whats the point of traveling if not to get cultured?

3. Meals

This brings me to another point: meals. Most hostels come with a well stocked kitchen and other household gadgets. Save some money by preparing little meals and snacks for yourself. Eating out for every meal is not only very expensive but also not healthy. So try this and not only save some money, but also keep that body tight.

4. Buy your own booze (BYOB)

No explanations needed!!! I mean who are you kidding? Chances are the plan is to get wasted, and trust me, it is cheaper to get drunk on your own supply than for $10 per shot at a bar somewhere. I am not saying don't buy drinks while dancing away the night — of course you should buy a couple, but just keep your supply handy and save some cash.

5. Entertainment

Depending on what you plan to do, you can definitely find ways to save some extra dollars — it might be a promo code, student discounts, or just going as a group. Just keep your eyes open and keep your student ID handy. Also, think outside the box, there are a bunch of fun activities that you can do that will not cost you money. Explore your new surroundings.

Try out these few tips and let us know in the comments of any tips that has worked for you in the past. But no matter what do not forget to just have fun and let go. For those of you who would not be traveling, not to worry there are a bunch of things you can do right here in Cleveland.

My favorite thing to do is just exploring the city, finding those hidden artsy streets and having an impromptu photo shoot. Whatever your thing is, you can definitely find it in Cleveland, and if you can't...Well, there's always Netflix.

Happy spring break!!!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
