Bernie Sanders is a democratic candidate for the upcoming Presidential term or 2016-2020. He and Hillary Clinton are known to be the top contenders from the democratic party. Although Hillary Clinton has gained a lot of fame and media attention, many believe that Bernie is, in fact, the best democratic candidate. I am one of those people and here's why:
1. Bernie Sanders just wants a better country.
Sanders understands that he may or may not become president. He genuinely just wants the United States to become a better country.
2. He doesn't care what names people call him.
Many people have incorrectly titled Sanders as a socialist in order to make him seem like an unfit presidential candidate, but Sanders embraces the title instead of shying from it like most would. He himself claims to be a Democratic Socialist which is very much so different from Socialist.
3. He's one of the only two Democratic candidates who aren't millionaires.
Sanders and Martin O'Malley the only candidates who aren't millionaires. Sanders has a net worth of approximately $528,014, making him part of the 99%. He's been working in public service since 1981.
4. He doesn't rely on financial means to maintain his campaign.
In order for a candidate from a major party to get on the primary election ballot, they must either raise enough money or get enough signatures. In places like Texas, Sanders has collected over 10,000 signatures instead of money to get on the ballot.
5. He wants everyone to have a fair chance at a great quality life.
Sanders understands that majority of Americans in today's society aren't able to afford a decent education and other services necessary to receive an adequate education. That's why he's willing to work and get the people everything from free healthcare to free education for all.
6. He's ADORABLE!
Sanders is the America's cute old grandpa that slides you money without your parents seeing and makes sure you have everything you need. He looks huggable and has the cutest little smile!
