Why Sailor Moon Is The Patron Saint of All College Students

No one can relate to a college student's hectic lifestyle more than Usagi Tsukino -- and here are the GIFs to prove it.

For all college students, it's that time again: the end of another break and the start of a fresh semester. While we're all probably ready to start back now -- after all, new year, new studying and health habits, right? Don't be so sure. That attitude will quickly change the farther we get into the semester. (Another research paper? Seriously?) When you just want to give up for a few days, there's no better role model than Usagi Tsukino from "Sailor Moon." The lead character in one of the most famous animes, Usagi may be a female vigilante at night, but she's like us during the day: a tired, hungry, frazzled student who just wants to stay in bed for another hour or two. Here are some GIFs of hilarious Usagi reactions that explain scenarios we've all encountered as the semester picks up.

1. You've been on break for almost a month now and you can't wait to get back to your friends! You realize school isn't too bad... interesting classes, new school supplies and exciting things to do on campus all sound appealing...

2. ... Until you realize that you're swamped. First day back, 100 pages of books to read. Three research papers due at the same time. A presentation on one of the dullest parts of history. When will it end?!

3. All you want is to be able to sleep in again at home all snuggled up and warm under the sheets. Yeah, that 8 a.m. class? It's laughing at you.

4. To cope, you decide to eat all of the junk food. I mean, it tastes better than some -- no, most -- of the things offered in the caf... but it might not be so good for your tummy.

5. The first few weeks are going great... until your professor calls on you to answer a question when you weren't paying attention. Not even a little bit. Oops...

6. Deciding to go to the library for an early study session to get yourself back on track, you invite all of your friends... and studying may have been replaced by giggling and obsessing over current crushes.

7. You realize in the middle of night that assignment you thought was due next Wednesday... is actually due tomorrow first thing in the morning. The meaning of panic has never been clearer.

8. You wake up towards the end of the semester thinking you'll be on time for class... and realize you've got 10 minutes until class. You never thought you could run this fast, but apparently it's possible.

9. The impending week has come. It's finals week. *ominous music plays in the background* Some crying might be involved, but you'll make it.

10. You may or may not have decided that drinking six cups of coffee in one night to help cram for an exam was a good idea. Not your brightest moment when you're hopped up on caffeine.

11. You made As and Bs in all of your classes! All of the studying, note taking and stressing out paid off. Go get a treat, you deserve it.

12. Ahhh, the semester is finally done. Sweet, sweet relief. Netflix and reading in bed will be your summer... until you get bored again and wish for another semester to swing around. The cycle never ends.

As always, Usagi and her ever changing moods are extremely relatable. When it comes to college, we all want to be the show's studious, calm and collected Ami, but Usagi will always fit the college student's mindset. Just remember, you can make it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
