Why am I up so early?
It's barely 7 a.m., but you're already up and ready. You're 8 a.m. anatomy lecture isn't going to wait for you...and if you miss it your life is pretty much over.
How am I supposed to learn all of this before Friday?
By now, you're starting to realize you have multiple tests this week, and you aren't nearly as prepared as you should be. How are you going to memorize all of the stages of cellular respiration or all 206 bones of the body in less than 5 days???
"I'm going to kill you"
Almost always directed towards a history major who told you not to worry so much. Come on...you know who I'm talking about.
Do I have time for lunch?
Better question: do I have time to sleep?
I CAN do this.
I can't do this.
Solution: I am going to my academic adviser and changing my major.
God bless Linda (and all nursing academic advisors) for saying no.
Plan B: study sesh with my future clinical buddies.
Break out those bone boxes ladies (and a few gents). It's study time. But let's be honest, how much studying will you really do once you start talking about last night's GoT episode?
The day is almost over. I just have to study for 5 more hours, eat dinner, do laundry, volunteer, scream about all of the gen eds I have to take, and then I can sleep.
It's a marathon, not a sprint. But you're expected to sprint the marathon.
Finally...sleep.
I never realized how wonderful my 5" thick, dorm mattress was until I pulled my first all-nighter. It's more beautiful than Ryan Reynolds (or Ryan Gosling if you prefer).
All in all, it's not an easy two years before clinicals start. Sure, it's easier than clinicals, but it's still hella hard. And if anyone can push through it, it's definitely be you. So go get 'em!
