Full House is an American sitcom that aired from 1987 to 1995. It followed the life of the Tanner family and their friends in their hometown of San Francisco, California. Viewers fell in love with its focus on the importance of family and all of the different personalities featured on the show. There is Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), a stand-up guy and widowed father who asks his best friend, Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), to move in with him to help raise his three daughters, D.J. (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). Jesse is the Elvis-loving, cool uncle who charms everyone who knows him. Joey is the goofy, yet lovable, adopted uncle who keeps the family laughing through good times and bad.
Sadly, after eight great seasons and 192 episodes, the show ended. . . or did it?
The new series that is rumored to be a revival of Full House will be called, wait for it, Fuller House! The 13-episode spinoff will star Cameron-Bure and Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler. The show will most likely follow D.J. and Kimmy's lives as adults with families of their own.
Since the announcement in August of 2014 that the creators were planning to reboot the series, no one has officially signed on. However, according to TVLine, Saget, Stamos and Coulier are expected to guest star on the show. There is also talk that Stamos is coming on as a producer in addition to original Full House producer Jeff Franklin.
So far, there have been mixed feelings about the revival of the TV series. Before there was any indication of a revival, Lori Loughlin (who played Jesse's wife, Becky Donaldson) told E! News that she did not think a Full House reboot would be smart. Cameron-Bure had a different opinion, though. In a recent interview with TooFab, she said, “We've all kind of done little things here and there just poking fun or throwing back to Full House, which has been cool. If it's a good opportunity or a good place to do that, I think we all would do that. I would do that and have fun with it."
Fans of the show seem to support a revival, but they simply believe that the rumors are too good to be sure. On the Twitter-sphere, they have been calling it an April Fool's joke that just keeps going. Only time will tell us whether or not the Netflix reboot is true, but I think I can speak for everyone when I say that my fingers are crossed.
