"Sound Bath." While it may not be the most common term it is one of growing popularity. Perhaps you've found yourself wandering about IRL or URL, stumbled across such an offering and thought, "Well actually, my ears have felt rather dirty lately." (Been listening to too much trap? Me too..) The idea of bathing in sound is a meditative one with super minimal tones, harmonic pairings, and an extremely relaxed intention. The experience created with gongs, singing bowls, didgeridoos and/or a combination of these plus a variety of other instruments fully immerses you in vibrations to balance your chakras, unlock some universal door, and wash you with some inner peace. Theoretically. Where there are fanatics there are skeptics. Where there is a lack of literature and definitive information of the subject, there is an abundance of Yelp results in the greater Los Angeles area. And where there is something being done with sound, there are artists delving deeper and making it their own.

Electric Sound Bath is a Los Angeles based duo I had the pleasure of meeting last week. We shared a lil' bit of conversation and a lotta' bit of sweat one evening at the Korean spa and these two are by far some of the chillest cats to encounter on the west-coast. And they are taking sound bath to a new level I have personally found impossible to not enjoy. "Together we aim to bridge the gap between acoustic sound baths and amplified drones." Yes. All the yes. My ambient enthusiasm paired with my curiosity for New Age practices leaves me with quite a bit of hippy dippy on my hands and even more in my ears. I confirm that they reach into the cosmos and pull some magick out.

So how can you sound bath? You could make your way to Symbiosis this weekend where the multi-faceted lineup is sure to boast such delicacies like some metaphorical restorative musical q-tip. You coulddd duck into your local yoga studio for the all-time favorite One and Half Hours of someone else's mouth-breathing; OR, much like I will be doing from the comfort of home, Hop into your own time and space portal to these magical musings.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
