Roger Kurian: A Beautiful Testimony

.

Today I had an opportunity to hear a beautiful testimony by a brother in my church – Saving Grace Ministries. His name is Roger Kurian and what he shared today brought tears to my eyes and struck a chord with me.

Roger so beautifully spoke about his life experiences and thanked God every step of the way. He started his testimony very humbly by thanking our Pastor: Jesse Galvan for giving him this opportunity.

He then touched upon the difficulties and challenges that he went through in the past but did not dwell on that. He went on to speak about witnessing, accepting and honoring God’s presence in his life for the past 1.5 years of his life. This was about the time he joined our church: Saving Grace Ministries and says through Grace he was saved. He kept the faith and how our Savior Jesus Christ rendered him Saving Grace. Jesus is too good to not believe, he saw so many miracles happen to him in the past 1.5 years of his life.

In the past, Roger was someone who never believed in Karma. But his past Karma hit him and hit him so hard that he had absolutely no escape. Now he preaches and professes about Karma to everyone. If you sow good, you reap good rewards and that is his motto in life right now.

Roger went through the worst time of his life in the past 1.5 years. It was so bad that everything he did went against him. Roger tried to do everything in his earthly knowledge and capacity but everything he touched and every step he took was going against him. It was almost like a demonic or devilish force and power that was against him and there was nothing he could do to change that. That’s when he came across a book from Dr Tony Evans that said you have to fight your battles in the spiritual realm.

Since nothing was working for Roger, he decided to get on his knees and pray. He prayed fervently, he prayed from the bottom of his heart. Every time he prayed, he had tears in his eyes. He continued to pray every day for 1.5 years. He even got his family involved in praying with him and for him. He surrendered and gave up everything to his lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Roger was a very intelligent man, yet he chose to humble himself in front of others. He always listened to everyone around him. He strongly had faith and convictions that his prayers will deliver him and he continues to pray day in and day out. He knew that his God and his Savior would save him.

Every time that he felt depressed and anxious about what his future was going to pay, Roger just knelt down and prayed. In these moments, he came so close to God and experienced him like he had never before in his life. It was God’s grace that got him through all the obstacles of his life. Roger strongly believes that what happened in his life was really just paying the path to bring him closer to God.

While God’s ways are far too complex for humanity, Roger suggested to everyone who is going through a difficult time in their lives to pray to God genuinely and from the bottom of the heart and assured everyone that if you did, GOD WILL RENDER YOU SAVING GRACE.

Roger ended by saying that he fought the good fight, he kept the faith and finished the race. What an inspiring and touching testimony, one that will remain with me for a lifetime to come.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
