Jennifer Lawrence has a new movie out titled "Mother!" and it has viewers divided on their opinions of the film. It's unlike anything J-Law has starred in so far, and it's unlike anything I, personally, have ever seen before.
Basically, a woman (Lawrence) and her award-winning author husband live their lives alone in an old, creepy house together. Weird things start happening, and it turns into a violent, cult-ish movie that leaves you thinking "yes! genius!" or "was my popcorn drugged?"
Here is my review of the movie, as told by Jennifer Lawrence memes and GIF's
The first hour or so of the movie was so boring.
The plot seemed non-existent and I constantly caught myself closing my eyes.
And J-Law's character is eerily in love with her husband, who is old enough to be her dad.
When the first few crazy fans start showing up and acting crazy, s*** starts getting weird and you finally get an idea what the movie is about.
Then all of a sudden, the fans leave and everything goes back to normal.
The movie returns to its intense boredom. But you're wondering, okay, what was that even about? You want to walk out, but you still want to see what happens.
J-Law starts grabbing the walls and viewers find out that she just wants to be pregnant by her super old man. It happens, she gets knocked up, and you start realizing there's something way off about her and her husband. But mostly her.
When she's almost ready to give birth, the cult of crazy fans reappear but in bigger numbers.
The things they do to her and the house had me on the edge of my seat, with an expression similar to J-Law's below. Except I had a few tears, it was so disturbing. The violence and sickness were worse than anything Stephen King could have conjured up.
After the rest of the super violent/disturbing/blood-curdling weirdness happened and the movie finally ended, this was my reaction.
I turned to my friend, and we both looked like this for the next 20 minutes, trying to process the hot mess we just witnessed.
It was a messed-up movie...
BUT I recommend people watch it and form their own opinions. Everyone should see it, but you can never unsee it. Even Jennifer Lawrence herself said in an interview with People that the movie was meant to divide viewers and cause them to talk about the crazy ish that went down.
