Revamping Your 2015 World

The New Year brings high expectations and even higher letdowns. We always seem to bite off more than we can chew in the New Year and hit the month of June with the failed and fleeting goals we set in January. Living a life that is full is actually much simpler than it appears. As humans, we only truly need the simplistic and most natural moments in life to live completely. Here are some tips to help you focus on LIVING and LOVING your New Year.

Start a Journal.

Write down at least one word every day. This can be a word you saw somewhere, the way you are feeling that day, or a song lyric. Writing even just a little helps center the mind and create something out of the most ordinary of days.

Make Playlists.

Whether you like Top 100s, classic rock, singer-songwriters, or “have no favorite,” making a playlist every month is a great way to find new music that you really love and keeps you constantly on your toes.

Read a Book.

Seriously, no one reads anymore because we would rather scroll through Twitter. However, reading a book can transport you into another world, even if just for an afternoon. But you come back to your world ready to face whatever life throws you.

Be a Foodie.

Find a recipe, online or in a good old fashioned cookbook, and create a dish that dreams are made of. It’s really not as hard as it seems and the reward of eating your delicious meal after is SO worth it.

Work Out.

Blah blah blah, exercise in the New Year. Take a hike or walk around in a new place. Just take a day to be outside and see something new for the very first time. You’ll find something you didn’t know was there.

Chit Chat.

Have your closest friends over, eat your favorite food, wear your favorite dress, and just enjoy the conversations that flow effortlessly through the night air.

Remember, Life is supposed to be lived moment by moment. Plan for the long haul, but never let it weigh you down. A fresh start is sometimes all that it takes to lead a successful Life cherished in moments.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
