I did it again.

This time on The RealReal.com. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Where else can you get a "gently used" Dolce & Gabbana dress for $60? NOWHERE. I have some self control though. I mean, that $150 Marchesa dress is still in my cart. Oh, nevermind. Someone else swooped on it. Maybe for the better...

As I hung my new purchase up, I found myself struggling to make even the smallest space for this one dress in my closet, so this week I have decided to sort through my closet(s) and get rid of a large portion of my wardrobe. Less than half, but even then, less than half is still rather large. I have told myself before that I would do this; at least once a month, but it has gotten to the point where clothes are overflowing every dresser, rack, and shelf I have. I may sound like a clothes hoarder, and maybe I am (my mom seems to think so), but why is it so hard to get rid of things when you know that you're never going to wear them ever or ever again?

My boyfriend always jokes about how half the clothes in my closet probably have tags on them still, and, well, he's not wrong, but I won't tell him that. What's even worse about the situation is that yes, they have tags on them still, but they have been hanging there for over a year without a single wear, yet I can't seem to get rid of them. My friends and I have discussed throwing a "clothes swap" party where we bring all of our rarely or never worn clothes that are still wearable and swap it for something in someone else's pile, as well has having a yard sale, which to me, is much needed, but that will only replace my never-worn clothes with new/used probably-end-up-never-worn clothes.

I know I'm not alone in this struggle. My sister's closet actually collapsed once because of the weight of her clothes. Her heavy coats and purses were the cause, and lucky for me, I store those items in a separate closet under my stairs to avoid such a situation. I often think about my storage situation when I finally move into my own place. I know I won't have multiple closets to my advantage, hence the downsizing that needs to occur.

My goal is to do this by November 19th, the weekend before Thanksgiving. I may have subconsciously chose this date because of the holiday sales that pour in after Thanksgiving and I need to make room for new purchases, but I will tell myself that it was just a random day. Riiiiiiiight....

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
