15 Restaurants Every RIC Student Wishes They Had On Campus

Table for one, please.

A common complaint among RIC students is the lack of variety (or high quality food) served up at one of the two dining spots on campus.

Though there isn't much that can be done about this without extensive planning and budgeting, us RIC students can most definitely vouch for the fact that we've dreamt about these 15 restaurants making their way onto our Providence campus:

1. Dunkin Donuts

You can totally smell this picture, right? Freshly made coffee and donuts eagerly await your order at Dunkin Donuts... if only we had one on campus. Though the line might stretch across campus with sleepy-eyed students needing their morning wake up coffee, it'd be totally worth it for a good cup of joe.

2. Subway

Eat fresh and feel fresh, amirite? There wouldn't be a single upset stomach on campus with a Subway as a sandwich shop alternative to what's served up on the reg at Don.

3. Panera Bread

Two words: Bread bowls.

4. LaSalle Bakery

Despite LaSalle Bakery having two locations within five minutes of RIC, you have to admit that it'd be pretty great to have another pastry and coffee destination (especially one like this) on campus.

5. Baja's Tex Mex Grille

Move over RIC tacos and say hello to Baja's. Let's face it, if you haven't been to Baja's, you're seriously missing out on some amazing tex mex. If only Baja's was at RIC and not a 10-minute drive away on Thayer Street.

6. Starbucks

Another fantastic coffee alternative on campus would be Starbucks. Though it likely wouldn't get as much business as a Dunkin would because Rhode Islander's (and RIC students) all seem to run on Dunkin, anything is better than cafe coffee.

7. Pinkberry

All in favor of froyo on campus, raise your hand! Let's face it, if we had a Pinkberry on campus, it would put the ice cream machine in Don out of business.

8. Antonio's Pizza

The pizza in the Cafe isn't that bad, but what would make a somewhat-okay situation a lot better would be an Antonio's Pizza on campus. Sure, it's only 10 minutes away on Thayer, but imagine if it was conveniently located on our campus?

9. Friskie Fries

Imagine loaded cheese fries where the cheese dip doesn't taste like plastic?

10. Chipotle

If there was a Chipotle on campus, I would probably live in it like SO many other RIC students would as well.

11. PVDonuts

PVDonuts in Student Union would be a RIC student's dream come to life. Maybe it would finally convince us all to take 8 AM's so that we could be first in line for this Rhode Island specialty.

12. Harry's Bar & Burger

A fantastic alternative to the burgers served up in Don would be Harry's Bar & Burger. It's where good burgers would meet (more) loaded french fries.

13. Olneyville New York System Restaurant

Though we would likely need to serve a bowl of mints with these, NY System wieners at RIC would be heaven to all Rhode Islanders attending to RIC-- AKA most RIC students.

14. Insomnia Cookies

Late-night drives over to Thayer Street would no longer exist if there were an Insomnia Cookies at RIC. It's hard to resist these mouth-watering treats.

15. IHOP

They don't call it the most important meal of the day for nothing. An IHOP breakfast would definitely get most RIC residents out of bed in the morning and most commuters to campus long before their classes are set to begin.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
