Nowadays children do not have much respect for authority or their elders. As a child, I was taught to always say ""no ma'am," "yes ma'am" or "no sir," "yes sir." I would never talk back to my parents or any adult. Respect is an important part of life. You won't get far in life without it.
Respect will take you further in life than anything else. Children in this generation don't know how important respect is. To get respect you have to give respect. If you don't earn it, then they don't respect you.
That kind of thing doesn't apply to adults. As a child, you are to respect any adult no matter. In my opinion, you are to respect any adult and then take the situation to your parents and let them handle it as adults. No child should have any arguments with an adult.
Each person has a place in their lifetime. When you are a child, you are to stay in a child's place. Enjoy being a child and have fun without any worries. Once it's time for you to grow up and start being responsible for more things, you would probably want to be a child again.
Children in this generation need to start respecting their elders. Many kids who don't have respect for adults have a hard time taking orders or demands. They have a problem with the law and rules at school. You will always have to listen to someone especially in the workforce. There will always be someone in a higher position than you. In order to get that position or higher, you have to work for it. If you don't like having to follow rules and respect everyone, how do you expect to get further in life?
Children have to start learning these things early like 6 months to a year old. I see a lot of babies that's haven't heard the word NO before. When they get with someone that says no, they throw a temper tantrum trying to get their way. It's not the children's fault, because they do what they see, or they figure out what they can get away with. Those things lead to children thinking its okay to do. We have to start teaching them respect at a younger age.
