Somehow I blinked at the start of summer and how August is already right around the corner? I am not sure if I am 100 percent ready for summer to come to an end, but I am excited to see what this next school year has in store for me. For myself, it can be easier to remember who I am and what I stand for while I am at home during the summer with my family. When it is time to go back to school, it is sadly easy for me to be down on myself and forget who I am: a daughter of the one true king. If you are like me, then you might need to be reminded of a few things before the new school year starts.
You are loved.
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing." Zephaniah 3:17
If there is one thing you should never ever forget, it is that you are loved. You are so loved that nothing you ever do or say will ever separate you from God's love. You are his son or daughter. You mean everything to God.
You are a light.
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
When you give your life to Christ, you become a light to the world. Your light reflects on the world and shows them God's endless glory.
You are forgiven.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
We can thank our savior, Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness that no one can ever take away from us. Jesus died on the cross for your sin and mine, which means we are washed clean from the weight of our sins.
You are worthy.
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalms 139:13-14
If you ever forget your worth due to a bad grade on a test, a hard breakup, a fight with a friend, a missed opportunity or anything else, remember this: you are worthy. Why are you worthy? Becuase the same God that created everything that you see (and do not see) made YOU. Why are you worthy? Because Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and YOU.
You are not your age.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
Your age does not matter in the kingdom of God. You should set an example whether you are 16-years-old or 99-years-old. Age is only a number and it should not stop you from showing the world what God has done for you.
You are strong.
"But he said to me, 'my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
When you are feeling weak, lean on God to find your inner strength. I promise you that it is there, you just have to reach out to your creator. Being a follower of Christ is not easy, so do not let the trials and tribulations bring you down. You are strong.
You are beautiful.
"You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you." Song of Songs 4:7
The world will try to make you feel the opposite of beautiful, but the world is not true. God is true, and God thinks you are beautiful. God's opinion is the only one that matters.
You are blessed.
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
When you put your trust in God, the blessings from your Heavenly Father will pour down from Heaven. He will always meet your needs even if you think it is impossible. God is always blessing you even when you cannot see it.
You are never alone.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
The Holy Spirit fills you from the moment you give your life to Christ. You are never alone. God does not want you to face any battle or victory without him. He is always on your side, whether you feel him there or not.
You are victorious.
"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4
Jesus conquered the grave and washed away your sins; therefore, YOU are victorious. You are an overcomer thanks to our mighty God.
