Remember Why You Started

Sometimes we let school get to us especially when we have so much going on at home. School can become easily overwhelming in just one day and sometimes it is our own fault. I know we also have the added stress of learning how to become an adult. The trouble with all of this is we let it add up instead of working it out one day at a time and picking it apart piece by piece. Sometimes I wonder if we do not just strive on the stress of it all.

What I mean by that is that instead of working on projects for different classes on different days, we would rather wait and work on them all at once. I know I try to get everything done early but with some teachers it just is not possible. That brings me to my next thing, why do some teachers like to pretend that we only have their class to study or do assignments for? As an education major I see some teachers cooperate with each other and ask when tests are so that they do not stress the kids out with twelve tests on one day. So why wouldn't all of our teachers try to take this approach? Instead we are left sitting up at 2 in the morning working on assignments only to be told we did not do them entirely correct or need to put more work into them.

Sometimes I wish teachers cared about how much time it takes to do an assignment, some instead assume you can do a big project over the weekend when in actuality you might have a big game or other projects also to do. I know I miss the days where I did not feel like I was scrambling to get work done. It seems each year that their is always that one teacher that pushes you to your breaking point. Here is my advice to those who feel like they cannot do it or just are too tired at the moment to remember why they are doing this. Go back to the day you first realized why you wanted your major, do you remember how excited you were for the future? Do not let one teacher take that away from you. There are always going to be those people in the world and I like to think of them as faith testers. What do I mean by that exactly? Well, I believe they are testing whether we really want this. So yea I know school can be stressful and sometimes we get those teachers who don't care how much we have on our plate but just remember why you did it and just work through it. You can do it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
