Grace VanderWaal. Remember that name. The 12-year-old who is taking on the music industry by storm from her breath taking performance on the hit television show America's Got Talent. She is following a list of successful women who had big dreams growing up and have also made their television debut on some of the most popular shows on throughout the years. But lets be real, Grace's vocal dreams are coming true and that's right sweetie miracles do happen.

Grace is a 12 year old that not only has a sensational voice but she writes and sings her own songs. She is from Suffern, New York and lives with her mother, father, sister, best friend and two dogs. Her friends did not even know she can sing! She was featured on last Tuesday nights episode of America's Got Talent singing an original called "I Don't Know My Name." Based on the reactions from the judges and audience she is "the next Taylor Swift" according to judge Simon Cowell. Between her cute style and the sound of her ukulele she was a performance that moved the audience as well as the judges panel. She keeps her voice restrained at certain parts of her songs which gives her a sophisticated tone that then leads up to a powerful and jaw dropping chorus. Her fresh personality and breath taking voice ended up giving her a standing ovation as well as the golden buzzer. Howie Mandel was the judge that sent her through all the way to the live show that will premier later this summer.

When you think about it last Tuesday we can all agree that a star was born. VanderWaal's performance on the show has gone viral and she has been placed in the spotlight as a new artist after her first public performance. All thanks to her mother who in fact signed her up for the shows audition process. Clearly there is nothing holding this girl back and she is on the rise to stardome, or has she already hit it? It is safe to say that this young girl will be a household name in no time. She has over 56,000 twitter followers, 215,000 Instagram followers and numerous Facebook fan pages. She has celebrities following her like Taylor Swift, tweeting about her talent and the public wanting more. The original performance video has more than seven million views and counting as well as others creating covers of her own songs. Sounds like a very accomplished 12-year-old if you ask me. Surfacing the internet now are her top three song covers which are; “Back to Earth” by Jason Mraz, “Breathe Me” by Sia and lasty Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine.

Here is her first public performance on America's Got Talent just in case you have missed it in your social media newsfeeds or you live under a rock.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
