6 Things To Remember During Finals That Will Help You Finish Strong

In This Article:

Finals are here, and personally, I am very stressed. For those who are also struggling, I have compiled a list of what I always need to remind myself during this stressful week. I really hope this helps, and good luck with finals!

1. Breathe.

Giphy

Always remember to breathe. Take each day one at a time, you will get through it all. You will survive. Maybe go to a yoga class, it will not only help you work on your breathing but it will be a nice break from sitting around studying for hours on end.

2. Everything will be okay.

Giphy

Did you pass? Great! Did you fail? That's okay, too. No matter the outcome of these grades, it will all be okay. In the end, everything will work out how it's supposed to. Once you hit submit or hand in your answer sheet, there's nothing else you can do.

3. These tests don't define you.

Giphy

Finals are just a small bump in the road throughout your time at college. These couple tests won't define your outcome or whether you get a career or not. The outcome of these, don't determine your future.

4. Don't isolate yourself.

Giphy

Don't lock yourself in your room studying every second of the day. Yes, studying is important however so are you. You could take a study break and go relax with your friends. Sometimes all you need is a friend to get through the stress. You can't expect to do this all alone.

5. Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

Giphy

If you pile too much on your plate, you will crumble. Don't pressure yourself into getting straight A's, if it doesn't work out that's okay.

6. Do your best.

Giphy

All anyone can ask of you is to do your best. Maybe you fail, but did you do your best? Was there anything more you could've done? If not, then you succeeded.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
