Relatable Lessons We Should All Keep In Mind

This week Barbara and Jenna Bush had their letter to Sasha and Malia Obama one that is powerful, well written, and relatable to everyone revealed to the public. Here are the lessons that we all can take away from the letter.

1. Be Grateful For Every Opportunity That is Presented To You

No matter how small or large take every opportunity presented to you and don't take them for granted. They made you who you are today.

2. Explore Your Interests

Whether you're in college, high school, graduate school, or law school, never stop exploring what brings joy to your life. Follow your heart, as this is what will lead you to success and happiness.

3. Ignore The Negatives In Life

There will be people who will try to bring you down and judge you for your decisions. However, the most important thing to remember is who you are as a person, your character, and what you stand for because at the end of the day that is what matters.

4. Travel As Much As You Can

This will allow you to explore your interests more, grow as a person, and see what else is out there in the world.

5. Make Mistakes

You will make millions of mistakes in your lifetime so don't be afraid to face these setbacks because they will allow you to grow more as person.

6. Surround Yourself With Loyal People

Cut out those who are negative and surround yourself with those who are positive and can push you to be the best person you can be. Likewise goes for you as well.

7. Be Grateful For Your Parents

No matter how annoying they can be at times, they are the ones who root for us on the sidelines. They are the ones that have supported us at our lows and highs. Never take for granted all they have done for you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
