As the good Hispanic that I am, I love all forms of reggaeton, bachata, cumbia, salsa, merengue, flamenco, and Latin pop. I've recently compiled a playlist of remixes of reggaeton songs, as well as some American pop songs in English that are remixed with some reggaeton verses. Enjoy!

1. "Bonita"

Originally by J Balvin and Jowell & Randy, remix featuring Nicky Jam, Wisin, Yandel, and Ozuna. This group is basically all of my favorite reggaeton artists, we just need to get Maluma and Daddy Yankee up in here.

2. "Cheap Thrills"

Originally by Sia, remix featuring Nicky Jam. As much as I like Sean Paul's addition to this song, I love Nicky's Spanish additions.

3. "Despacito" (Megamix)

This is an almost 15-minute reggaeton mashup by DJ Johan with a great majority of the genre's hits from 2016 and 2017. It includes "Despacito," "Hula Hoop," "Solita Pa Mi," "Me Rehuso," "Traicionera," "Safari," "Alguien Robo," "Sigo Extrañandote," "Vacaciones," "Ella Quiere Hmm," "Tumba La Casa," "Party Animal," "Vente Pa'ca," "Chantaje," "Subeme La Radio," "Escapate Conmigo," and "Felices Los 4." This remix is only available on Spotify, not YouTube.

4. "Despacito" (Justin Bieber)

Originally by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, a remix featuring Justin Bieber. This remix took the world by storm this summer (and by the world, I mean the entire world), so if you haven't heard it - you're probably living under a rock.

5. "El Perdedor"

Originally by Maluma, a remix featuring Yandel. Maluma is fantastic on his own, so adding other reggaetoneros just gives his ice cream sundae songs a cherry on top.

6. "Ginza"

Originally by J Balvin, a remix featuring Daddy Yankee, Yandel, De La Ghetto, Arcangel, Zion, Farruko, Nicky Jam, Sky, and Alejandro "Mosty" Patiño. In my mind, this song is an OG reggaeton track of the mid-2010s, so I love that this remix features a lot of great reggaeton artists of this time.

7. "Hasta El Amanecer"

Originally by Nicky Jam, remix featuring Daddy Yankee. Honestly, adding Daddy Yankee to anything makes it instantly better. I'm sure he could even make singing the phonebook extremely lit.

8. "Havana"

Originally by Camila Cabello, a remix featuring Daddy Yankee. Again, adding Daddy Yankee to anything is always a good idea. As much as I like Young Thug's rap in the original song, I think that it's more fitting to have a Hispanic reggaeton or rap artist featured, especially with the song being about a Spanish-speaking city.

9. "Lean On"

Originally by Major Lazer, Mø, and DJ Snake, a remix featuring J Balvin and Farruko. A lot of this song doesn't have words, but adding the Spanish to it gives it a whole new dimension.

10. "Mi Gente"

Originally by J Balvin and Willy William, a remix featuring Beyoncé. Okay, a) Bey is a queen, b) the charitable efforts behind the "Lift up your people From Texas, Puerto Rico Dem' islands to México," line are incredible, c) the fact that there are 3 languages (Spanish, French, and English) featured together in one super popular song rocks, d) it's really cool that Beyoncé is saying "Azúl, are you with me?" indirectly to her daughter (her name is Blue Ivy, and Azúl means blue) and her daughter's voice is featured in the answer, "Oh, yes, I am," in response the last call.

11. "One Dance/Hasta El Amanecer"

Originally by Drake and Nicky Jam separately, mashed up and performed by Alex Aiono. As much as the Spanish-speaking community has picked on him for saying "hasta el manecer," instead of "hasta el amanecer," we all bop to it anyway.

12. "Reggaeton Lento (Bailemos)"

Originally by CNCO, featuring Zion & Lennox. I love this remix all in Spanish, but for some reason, I detest the Little Mix remix of this song. The original is absolutely marvelous, and I think Little Mix ruined it by turning it into mostly English lyrics.

13. "Shape of You"

Originally by Ed Sheeran, remix featuring Zion & Lennox. The really popular Spanish remix is by a Basque YouTube-based singer, Leroy Sanchez, which I absolutely love. It's been viewed 12.7 million times, and I can safely assume that I've contributed at least one of those millions to it. However, this version is still Ed singing, and it includes more reggaeton beats that gel well with the original tune.

14. "Sin Contrato"

Originally by Maluma, remix featuring Don Omar and Wisin. This song has so many versions, the one with just Maluma, the one with Maluma and Fifth Harmony (including Camila, back in the day), and this version with Maluma, Don Omar, and Wisin. All three versions are fantastic, and all three versions were in my top 10 songs on my Spotify 2017 Wrapped playlist. Enough said.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
