Summer is the perfect time to experience the three T's: traveling, trying new things, and treating yourself. If you live in or close to the tri-state area, it is essential that you take a trip to New York City to try some incredible desserts that will surely satisfy your summer cravings.

1. You must try Dominique Ansel Bakery.

Located in the heart of SoHo, Dominique Ansel Bakery is known for their incredible pastries and decadent food options. If you're in the mood for a cold glass of milk while walking in the heat, make sure to stop by to try one of their cookie dough shots. The "shot" is completely made up of fresh, warm cookie dough, and the inside is filled with sweet, replenishing milk. Trust me, you won't regret waiting on line for this.

2. You must try Loco Coco.

Looking to snack on the healthier side? Acai bowls, smoothie bowls, or fresh squeezed juices are smart options for anyone who is craving something healthy and energizing. Loco Coco is a great place to stop by if you feel this way. Located on Lexington Avenue, eating there is an amazing experience for anyone who is in the mood for something creamy or fruity.

3. You must try Kith Treats.

While they are typically on the more expensive side, ice cream and other desserts from Kith Treats are absolutely worth the wait. There are a few different locations near the city, one in Brooklyn and one in SoHo. Kith specifically is known for their ice cream treats that are filled and topped with cereal options, including Cap'n Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or Frosted Flakes. cupcake market

4. You must try Magnum New York.

Everyone loves Magnum Bars, especially on a hot day. The ice cream is reasonably priced, and absolutely worth the social media post. At Magnum new York, you choose a chocolate or vanilla base for your ice cream, and you have the ability to top it with whatever you wish. You can add a hard white, milk, or dark chocolate base, and a various array of toppings including butternut crunch, marshmallows, and granola.

5. You must try Emack and Bolios.

Also located in the heart of SoHo, Emack and Bolios has some of the best premium ice cream I've ever tasted. They have multiple different fresh cones you can try, including ones covered in Oreo's, cereal, and candy. When you purchase ice cream in one of these cones, you get what you're paying for- it's huge! You can absolutely share one of these with a friend.

6. You must try Magnolia Bakery.

Most importantly, you must try one treat in particular while you're there- their banana pudding. As shocking as it is, their banana pudding is thick, I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago at The Governor's Ball Music Festival, and it was the richest, most decadent sweet.

7. You must try John's Juice.

When you purchase a drink at Joe's Juice, you receive it IN the fruit you ordered. Their motto, "just juice, no cups" is as accurate as can be. They cut out a fresh pineapple, orange, or even watermelon and fill it with fresh squeezed juice from the insides. It is the best fresh juice you can get. You can also purchase their drinks at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg during the summer.

If you try one or all of these treats, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
