I Received $75 Worth of Lipsticks for Free

You're probably wondering how I managed this feat. I heard about a website called Influenster.com from another friend's Odyssey article. As any girl would after she realized she could get makeup samples for free, I signed up. Influenster is simple, you just review products that you have tried and they give you points. When you get so many points, you get an email about "VoxBoxes." After receiving an email about a Beauty VoxBox campaign, I filled out a short survey to see if I would be eligible.

Influenster sends you certain VoxBoxes based on the products that you review. I review basically every beauty product that I use, therefore they found I would be a perfect fit for the new Beauty VoxBox.


When I realized that the box consisted of three Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon lipsticks, I was so excited. I had heard of Bite Beauty from Sephora. I swatched the lipsticks on my hand to just get a feel for the colors.

Left is Glace, a good muted nude color. Middle is Red Velvet, a creamy medium red. Right is Cava, an exclusive online-only icy mauve color.

Matte lipsticks are a hit trend and these are the perfect consistency. The crayon texture gives them a creamy moisturizing feel on your lips. Valued at $24 each, they are pretty pricey, but I would say it's worth it. Bite Beauty has many other colors that I can't wait to try. Since I received this free sample, I am also more apt to try out Bite Beauty's other lip products.
