Recap on 2016 MAMA Awards in Hong Kong
Mnet-KPOP

To those unfamiliar with the MAMA awards, MAMA stands for Mnet Asian Music Awards. MAMA is an extravagant and popular music awards show where all the most famous artists, producers, and more gather in Hong Kong. In fact, MAMA is similar to the American Music Awards.

Like all music award shows, MAMA had many breathtaking performances, namely ones by BTS, EXO, TWICE, Crush, Dean, Zico, and many more! In addition, the nominees for the awards were absolutely talented and amazing.

To those who still haven't been able to catch some of the performances, here are several that I thought were absolutely the best:

BTS- "Boy Meets Evil pt. 1 and pt.2" + "Blood Sweat & Tears" + "Fire"

I may be showing favoritism to this group so be prepared. BTS is a unique boy group that stands out to me the most. Each and every time I watch their comeback videos, they always exceed my expectations. And typically, for MAMA, I figured they would upgrade their performance but I didn't expect it to be this amazing. But on the other hand, it's BTS. I love their teamwork shown throughout these two videos as well as their stage presence. They're absolutely breathtaking and must-watch performance. Did I mention their songs are amazing?

FANXY CHILD (Zico ft. DEAN and CRUSH) - "Bermuda Triangle"

For real, the most lit performance I've ever seen. The music absolutely has a great catchy beat to it; you don't need to understand Korean to know that this is a great song. Additionally, the stage presence and confidence all three of these artists had was absolutely powerful and worthy to watch. To be honest, this song has been on repeat for at least 100 times now.

EXO - "Transformer" + "Monster"

It's been a while since I've seen an EXO live performance. But since I've seen this video, I can't take my eyes off of them. The confidence and amazing choreography is absolutely unique and new. These songs are absolutely amazing as well. No doubt.

Suzy & Baekhyun - "Dream"

Not only is this performance cute, but I absolutely love the harmony and chemistry between these two artists. Their voices are melodious and I couldn't imagine anything better than this duo. Additionally, the moment where Baekhyun's fellow group members started dancing along to the song made me squeal. It was absolutely adorable.

TWICE - "Cheer Up" + "TT"

This performance was absolutely cute and adorable. The songs were amazing and the unique twist to their performance was absolutely amazing. I loved this performance.

I absolutely loved so many more performances but alas there are too many. But if you have been enjoying these few videos I've shown you, visit Mnet K-POP's Youtube Channel for tons more performances! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbD8EppRX3ZwJSou-... If you don't know which videos to pick, I would say either SEVENTEEN, Gfriend, SEVENTEEN, Taemin, Monsta X, Taeyeon, and even Wiz Khalifa would be great to watch! By all means, if you have the time, watch all of them because all of the performances were absolutely amazing.

Now onwards to the results of the music awards!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
