Reasons Why We Love Yoga Pants

Year-round on every college campus, yoga pants of every cut, color, and material imaginable are seen. These pants are a favorite of many women–especially college women–for so many reasons. You never have to spend hours in the morning deciding what to wear, because the answer is pretty obvious. They are, without a doubt, the greatest pants in the world. Still not convinced? All the reasons why you should have a pair (or two... or three... or more) yoga pants should be in your wardrobe arsenal:

They go with EVERYTHING.

You can dress them up or dress them down, especially if they’re leggings. You can wear them with a t-shirt or a sweater, Nikes or flats. You don’t actually need any real pants when you have these. And if plain black ones are too boring, they also come in countless other colors and patterns.

They are the world's most comfortable article of clothing.

Have you ever felt like your legs are being snuggled by a thousand kittens while wearing a pair of jeans? I didn’t think so. You look put together in yoga pants, but you also feel super cozy. Pajama pants and sweat pants are not socially acceptable to wear in public, so these are the next best thing.

They are flattering.

Black yoga pants will instantly make you look slimmer while accentuating your curves. Also, they are the perfect eating pants. They are super stretchy, so you can binge on Taco Bell or gorge yourself with desserts at dinner and still not look overstuffed.

You can wear them anywhere.

To the gym, the store, class, the bed, wherever you go, these are the perfect pants. They are comfy enough for any activity. Wearing a long shirt and nice boots makes them look like normal pants, and you may be able to even get away with wearing them at work.

You pretty much only need two pairs of pants.

Because these pants are so versatile, they are really the only kind you need. You only need an extra pair for when your favorite pair is in the wash.

They can be worn in every season.

In the summer, wear a cropped pair with a t-shirt. In the winter, wear a pair with Ugg boots and a sweatshirt. You have fewer clothes to pack up and pull out at the end of every season. Year-round comfort and effortless style can't be beat.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
