Dear Target,
You will forever be the love of my life, your long aisles of cheap prices and colorful water bottles have kept me happy for years to come. Your fogged up food fridge cases give me loads of options on whether I want to eat Dino-Nuggets with my friends or mini pizza bagels in front of the TV with Friends on repeat. To me you will always be number one, sorry Walmart. Your clothing lines, especially Knox Rose and swimsuits make me more than happy, and the prices aren’t too steep either. All my exercise tops and leggings finally get me to the gym, and I have you to thank.
My obsession with the Sims games began with your electronic aisle, months and months behind a computer screen, a conversation starter, a home planner. You made my room a master piece. My white pristine furniture and "Believe in the Beauty of Your Dreams" painting still hangs up in my dorm room. You made me want to organize, to pack, to put things away. I bought folders, pencils, letter holders, and staplers from you. You created my love for stationary.
You became a stop on our constant daily road trips. A stop in Starbucks and a frolic between the aisles where my friends and I came across bouncy balls, video game trials, and uncooked cookie dough. You were my after swim practice reward. My beginning with a basket that became too loaded so I had to return for a cart. I’m sorry I just really love your mugs. Your dollar section too. I’ve gotten more mason jars and notebooks there than I’ve known what to do with. You’ve got some pretty nice coloring books as well. If I just needed a walk to cheer me up, I’d drive the twenty minutes to you, because the second I walk through your red and white doors my mood does a 360.
Thanks for being there for me around Christmas time, you always have the best fuzzy socks and book selection. I’ve gotten a few too many fuzzy red blankets from your bedding section as well. The only part that saddens me is when I have to leave, when I’m sitting in the car remembering I forgot two, three, maybe even four of the things I came in for but left with fifteen different items.
You’ve got killer pajamas too.
Thanks for always being there for me Target, I can always count on you.
Love always,
The Target Shopaholic
