5 Reasons Why You Should Move Into A Tiny House

If you are a HGTV or FYI fan like me, you probably have come across a tiny house show. Whether it is "Tiny House, Big Living," "Tiny House Builders," "Tiny House Nation" or "Tiny House Hunters," there is no shortage of tiny house entertainment. When I first came across this new living trend, I was shocked that anyone would actually be willing to do this.

According to thetinyhouse.net, a tiny house can be anywhere from 60-400 square feet. After seeing these on TV, I knew I had to check it out in person. After touring one with my mom one afternoon, we were shocked at how big and efficient the tiny house could be. While this may not be everyone's first choice for a home, the advantages of going tiny far outweigh the space that is being sacrificed.

1. Tiny house means tiny mortgage

Not everyone can afford to buy a full sized house and renting long term is not a smart investment. With the cost of a tiny house being under $35,000 if you build it yourself, you can have little to no mortgage while being a home-owner. There are even other building companies that can customize the tiny house for you for around $50,000, depending on size and features. Just think what you could do with all the extra cash in the long run!

2. It simplifies your life and possessions

Since there is less house, there is less room for clutter and unnecessary items. You are able to pair down to the essentials and maintain an overall simpler and healthier lifestyle. Every item in the house has a purpose and even multiple purposes.

3. It is environmentally friendly

The smaller space is environmentally kind since it uses less energy. There is even the option to be completely powered by solar panels if the owner desires.

4. Freedom to travel

Since living in a tiny house costs less, you have more money to travel the world. Many tiny homes are even mobile, making to the ability to travel for fun or work much easier.

5. Endless creativity

Tiny houses are not traditional, making the possibilities for the design of the home endless. Your house can be made to be as unique as you both on the outside and inside.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
