5 Overlooked Reasons Why I Love Libraries And Why You Should Too

I love books. I love the way they look, the feel of them, and the stories they have in them. So what's better than a place that has thousands of them? Here are five reasons, although I could probably come up with way more, why I love libraries!

1. It's quiet.

Libraries are full of people who are studying or who are in their own minds, so it's pretty quiet. I love that we can go there, be in our own world, and get things done. I have several friends that are constantly going to the library to get their homework done without the distractions of family or media. It's just a great environment for all the 'quiet' work we have to do.

2. So many resources!

Libraries have everything! They have computers, books, IPads, and other technology. They have tons of information and people who are willing to help you find what you need. If you're looking for research resources and a solid WiFi connection, libraries are the place to go!

3. It takes you to another place.

For some reason, a library is just magical. The stories that it holds can transport you to other worlds and universes. One of the things that I love about reading is that you get to experience someone else's world and live life through their eyes. I love when libraries decorate according to one story and add to the ambiance. Libraries are like doors opening up into other worlds.

4. There are so many different stories.

Libraries are full of all kinds of stories. They have history books, comic books, children's books, si-fi, westerns, Christian books, romance novels, action novels, adult fiction, teen fiction, and many others. So no matter your mood, they've got a book for you!

5. They're rustic.

Libraries are just rustic. They have books you can hold and typically the architecture is pretty neat. They're charming and quaint. There is just something about the fact that you can go to a place full of books. Personally, Llibraries invoke a nostalgic feeling in me and I would love to one day travel to some of the historical Libraries around the world.

So, wherever you are, stop by your local Library. Embrace the magic they hold. Get lost in a book, it's good for you, and get your homework done without distraction!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
