Puppies are great, but cats are too. As I sit here struggling to write this article, it is because my cat is sitting on top of me in front of my computer. It is moments like this that make me a proud cat owner, and I’m sure many in the cat owning community can relate. There are many reasons to love cats, so in honor of mine, here are a few reasons to love them.

1. Cats make you smile.

Cats are funny little creatures that can be clumsy, or just down right hilarious. They can make you laugh just by their daily behaviors, or for small reasons, like how they flop down to accept some pats. These wonderful companions do little things every day to make you grin.

2. Cats can make you feel better in times of stress or sadness.

Yes, it is scientifically proven that animals can make you feel better and can even help with improving general health, I have found that as a cat owner, my cat will come to me at the times I need him most. He will sit with me when I am sad and will make me laugh in my worst times. He is the pick me up that I need. Any cat owner I have talked to says the same abut their cats as well.

3. Cats are lazy.

Cats are the most lazy animals. They spend so much of their time sleeping, so when you need a friend to sleep next to, you can count on your cat.

4. Cat cuddles are the best.

Simply put, cats give amazing cuddles and will cuddle with you for hours.

5. Cats are independent but needy.

Cats are very independent and can usually take care of themselves. They are self-sufficient and that is good because sometimes pets can be a lot of work. On the other hand, your cat generally needs you. He or she can be very dependent and will need attention from you. They will show it by the meows up in your face in the middle of the night, or by the head butts you may receive.

These reasons for loving a cat can strengthen your bond with the cat you already have, or they can be good reasons to get a cat too. Although these loving animals are sometimes overlooked, this article serves as a spark of appreciation for the many cats in this world. They bring us love and joy and can give us moments that we won’t forget, so let take the time to appreciate and love our cats. One extra pat please!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
