Friends finally coming to Netflix was basically revolutionary. I think the last time people were this excited was probably when Oreos became Double Stuffed. Unlimited access to Friends 24/7?!? It’s a dream come true for fans everywhere! Now that the show has hit Netflix, the obsession has intensified.
I’m completely guilty of staying in countless nights to watch reruns (I had seen over and over) on Nick at Nite, but I never quite comprehended how addicting the show truly is.
Whether you're a die-hard fan or you have only seen a couple episodes, surely you can appreciate the irreplaceable dynamics of the characters and how inevitable it is that you will end each episode in a better mood than when you turned it on … (unless you watch all the way to the finale).
Here are 24 reasons why it's 100% acceptable to be addicted to Friends (at least you can tell yourself these to feel better about it):
It never fails to be funny, which means you are bound to be put in a good mood after every episode. Who wouldn't want that?
We are reminded that sometimes it's okay to ignore the responsibilities of adulthood …
… And that the real world can be confusing and tough.
So it's okay to be a kid sometimes.
Characters like Janice help us realize how blessed we are to have friends that have (at least somewhat) normal laughs, and don't yell "OH MY GOD" every time they see you.
But it provides great prank ideas for the times when our friends do get on our nerves.
The show is quite educational and teaches us new things in every episode: like this valuable lesson in spelling …
And how to always win in Rock, Paper, Scissors …
And how to make a interesting slogan for just about anything …
And the truth behind the name of the Adam's apple.
The show also teaches us the very important lesson of self-appreciation:
Including how important it is that we aren't too hard on ourselves:
And how to appreciate others as well (kinda)…
If you're ever feeling dumb, Joey never fails to make you feel smarter.
Or to remember to check your To-Do List.
He also reminds us that it's okay to be diverse and act differently that people expect you to.
Even if you end up looking like this:
Or if we believed something totally inaccurate for a really long time.
Ross demonstrates all the methods to use to NOT get a girl:
Monica reminds us to be tidy, which we probably haven't been reminded of since we lived at home with our moms.
They always remind us that no matter how we may get annoyed by our friends and their repetitive, goofy sayings:
And their crazy logic, which we may never understand:
… We can always learn something from our friends,
… Or at least laugh at their silly ways.
