Coffee is a drink that is truly underrated and underestimated. I mean, quite frankly, it is the means of occupational and academic survival for millions of people around the world. If you’ve recently forgotten about coffee and everything that it’s done for you in times of crisis, here are the 6 reasons why coffee is better than people.

1. Coffee is always there for you in times of need.

Coffee isn't one of those things that cares about itself. Coffee is 100% here for you and your stomach only. Coffee is selfless and will be there for you during the good times, like when you're out with friends, and during the bad times, like when you have to write a 13-page paper in one night. Coffee doesn't judge you for procrastination; rather, it embraces your initiative to get your work done. Coffee is optimistic like that.

2. Coffee won't stab you in the back.

Coffee doesn't have other beverage friends that it gossips to about the way you annoyingly slupr or drink with your moth open or something like that. It's not going to simmer on over to the green tea to whisper about your chapped lips. Coffee will stay loyal to you, even if you accidentally backwash. Do humans do that? I didn't think so.

3. Coffee fills that empty void in your heart and soul.

Sometimes people leave you in the dust, leaving you with an empty heart and soul. Coffee would never do that. It fills that void with warmth and caffeine that reminds you that everything is going to be okay. Scientists have proven that coffee bypasses the digestive system and just goes straight to the heart. Coffee squeezes into those tiny claustrophobic vessels and capillaries to get to our heart. That’s true love and devotion.

4. Coffee is warmer than most people.

We all know those people who come off as super cold and not down to Earth and don’t want to smile or have nice cute little conversations. Coffee is so warm that the second you interact with it, it warms your entire body. If you look really hard into your cup of coffee and smile, the coffee will smile right back at you. What a friendly liquid!

5. Coffee doesn't cause stress/mental breakdowns.

Humans are notorious for causing people astronomical amounts of stress to the point of mental breakdown. All their drama and emotions. Coffee just wants you to relax and be productive at the same time. Coffee doesn’t want you to stress about waking up at 7 AM for class. Coffee doesn’t want you to have a mental breakdown about 16-hour shifts at work. Coffee is just so wonderful like that to worry about our mental health

6. Coffee smells better than most people.

Let’s face it, sometimes people smell rank. The instant you walk into a room where coffee has graced you with its presence, the scent overwhelms you and takes you to your happy place. You forget about that exam later, because you are in coffee heaven. If Heaven has a smell, I bet it smells like coffee.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
