With all of the recent revivals of shows that are happening lately, it would be no surprise that "Charmed" would be picked up at any second.
"Charmed" was a show about three sisters with a family secret. After their grandmother died, they discovered that they were the Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches in the world.
Not only was this show entertaining and intriguing in every possible way, it taught the public many life lessons that could be used to learn and develop as a person. With all of the violence, hatred, and deaths going on in this world, the show's revival could impact our generation in a positive and insightful way.
We learned that family always comes first.
A lot of people today seem to have forgotten that family should always come first. I mean seriously, how many of us have forgotten to call our mothers on their birthdays or help your sister change her tire instead of spending the night out? It may seem like a small issue, but every big issue starts small.
In the show, no matter what happened, the sisters always had each other's back. When Prue died, Shannen Doherty's character, Piper and Phoebe supported one another (played by Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, respectively). When they discovered their long lost sister Paige, Rose McGowan's character, they welcomed her into the family no matter what the circumstances. Even when all of the demons and warlocks of San Francisco were hunting them down, they never lost sight of the importance of family.
We learned to never give up.
In today's generation, many of us settle for less. This could be out of laziness, lack of ambition, or maybe just lack of faith in ourselves. We give up to easily and get comfortable to soon.
In "Charmed," things were never easy. Piper and Leo (Brian Krause) couldn't get married due to their forbidden love, fights with evil kept getting in the way of their social lives, Phoebe couldn't find love, Paige lived in the shadow of Prue, etc.
But one thing that always remained the same throughout the different obstacles they encountered was the strength and empowerment they developed to keep fighting.
We learned to be kind to one another.
The most important lesson we can learn from the show is to be kind to one another. No hate, no judgement, no violence, just kindness and love. With one act of kindness from all of us, society can be a step closer to achieving peace.
As the sisters learned to use their powers, they always tried to use them for good. They saved innocents and healed wounds (literally in Leo's case). They even brought lost family members together and helped saved an innocent man from going to jail.
All of these lessons and more could have a great impact in our generation. We would be able to learn a lot from the sisters three.
So CBS, where's my revival?
