Reality families on tv today display a misconstrued version of what a family is and acts like. People watch the shows we call reality tv and think that it is real. Real in reality is a very vague term of use for what we see on these shows. Most of these shows take a real family or a group of people and put the, together and create drama for our entertainment if it was real no one would watch because then 80% of the drama wouldn't be there -- for the most part, a real family or a group of people don't create that much drama. Duck Dynasty, Party Down South, Jersey Shore, and Real House Wives (any cities edition) are at the top of the popularity charts showing people interacting for a period of time that they call seasons.

Party Down South and Jersey Shore show groups of people in a home living together for the summer for free in exchange for a summer job working at a t-shirt sales place (Jersey Shore) or a beach toy rental service (Party Down South), as these people work and live free they also party hard and makes for dramatic television as when you place single people together in one house drama will naturally happen especially when they provide all the booze they can drink. These shows are focused around drinking, parties, bars, and romantic drama for 15 minutes of fame, the drama is created naturally in these situations through various hook ups and enemies made between people. It's funny how the same show shown in two different parts of the country can attract different audiences Jersey Shore was possibly the worst thing I viewed on television however, Party Down South essentially the same show I can actually stand when my girlfriend makes me watch it due to the cultural difference. Both shows display a fake reality to everyone who watches as people relate to different characters that are manipulated by the writers and producers to act certain ways. I get in trouble a lot for pointing out the obviously scripted parts in the shows by my girlfriend.

Duck Dynasty and Real House Wives are very popular obviously with male audience for Duck Dynasty and females favoring Real House Wives as a program of choice. I was forced to watch Real House Wives New Jersey once and will not happen again. This shows a family, which all I can picture as the Kardashian's, arguing and fighting with each other then going to activities to try to come together they show drama between all of them hating and stabbing each other in the back which is less than sub-par acting. This is one of the shows I've seen that was almost entirely scripted. The people have had so much surgery done to them they seem almost like props themselves, this show is mostly about women of a family who from what I can gather completely hate one another with the husbands being mean to everyone involved. Duck Dynasty is a show which features a family who has built a multi million dollar empire from duck calls. These are bearded men with trophy wives who slack off at work, hunt, and blow stuff up. Sounds legit right wrong these guys a few years ago were clean shaven country club guys who were avid hunters with a growing business that's about it however, not enough for tv. When they were branching out and looking to expand and market there product got a producer to film them a show they realized filming 5 guys in the duck call room making calls isn't good tv. With a little spicing up from the writers they found if they added some "redneck" flair like goofing off, blowing stuff up, and long beards they would attract a huge audience. The beard idea came from during duck season the men didn't shave every year so they just started not shaving all together, dolled up their wives, and created mayhem in their everyday lives. The project worked and an endless marketing campaign was launched in the form of a show that's nothing about duck calls. I enjoy the show but I realize the show is entirely scripted for our enjoyment, the life lessons they speak are genuine and the good they do around the community is real but writers take the fun and give it flair when the cameras ar off the fellas do there work as professionals do. A lot of people believe these guys are really like this in there everyday now granted they may be a fun family to be around however the tv aspect is to get the brand name out and sell more duck calls than any other company period, I enjoy the show and will continue to watch but America is loosing the ability to tell reality from tv scripting.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
