The day after is always the worst
Consider this: you are at the gym and are in the middle of a very difficult workout regime. You currently are in very much pain and you think this is the worst it's going to get. The next day though you wake up and feel even worse. This is the best way I can relate to rationalizing the sudden emotions of the unfortunate happening. The best part of this, though, is after the second day you can rationally evaluate the damage and take action.
Remember that things only got this bad because there is better opportunity waiting, and this wasn't good for you.
You can pity yourself over how great things seemed to be a week ago, but you weren't happy a week ago and maybe you're even more unhappy now. If your emotional state is this shaken up your situation was never that secure to begin with anyway.
"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache, carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” - Napoleon Hill
If you push through and continue to progress more opportunities always come.
Honestly, at this point the only place to go is up.
You probably got too comfortable. Unless this is a situation such as a death or another tragic incident, the only reason you are able to be so paralyzed by a situation is because you think it was the best thing you had. And maybe it was, but it's always better to realize that you could do better. Realize that hard work and change aren't always bad things, but instead are, at some point, necessary. You can really start to realize the opportunities that are available.
You say this is a setback, but you weren't progressing in the first place.
It could be stressful to know that you will, at some point, deal with something just as bad as (if not worse than) this, but if you learn from your situation and make positive constructive changes, things may never be this bad ever again.
