A Reaction To Kim's Paris Robbery Episode On Keeping Up With The Kardashians

The Paris episode is by far one of the most raw episodes in reality TV that I have ever seen.

I remember the day I heard the news that Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. The news began with Kanye abruptly stopping his show due to a family emergency. The emergency, we later found out, was Kim's attack. Details came out about the robbery and the traumatic events, but Kim kept very quiet throughout it all. Details kept emerging, but we had yet to see Kim make a statement or even go on social media at all. Just as things were looking up, and Kim was about to make her first public appearance, Kanye ended up in the hospital. It seemed like nothing was going right for their family and everything was very hush-hush.

Finally, after months on social media hiatus, Kim returned to us. Slowly, but surely she resumed her role on social media and with connecting with fans. News had come out about filming that occurred during the time that Kim was robbed, which meant that there was footage from that time in Kim's life, which was kept so private at the time. Trailers soon came out for the new season of the show and they teased us about what we would be seeing about the robbery. Recently, the Paris episode aired and throughout the episode, I experienced many emotions.

Hearing Kourtney, Kendall, and Kris's initial reactions were heartwrenching. The first few scenes that showed Kim after the robbery I was slightly confused. It seemed as if Kim had no reaction to it almost. The way she talked in the elevator was so calm and the way she greeted and interacted with her children was so normal. Even the very little conversation they had about it when she first arrived in the states was so casual. It never occurred to me that in these moments she was in shock. In the later scenes when she was describing what happened to her sisters and started to get emotional, I too got emotional. I can't imagine going through what Kim went through and the thought of it brought tears to my eyes. Every time she said "I am a mother, I have babies, I have a family" I just about lost it. Even though I do not personally know Kim, it made me sad for her family that they almost lost her. Another part that struck me emotionally was when she described her split seconds of decision making and her thought processes. I was scared for her when she thought that if she tried to escape she would be shot in the back and the fact that in that moment she came to terms with her death. I was in pain for Kim when she explained how she thought they were going to rape her and that she just accepted the fact. I was traumatized when she explained how she prayed for Kourtney to have a normal life after walking in on her and seeing her dead.

These are not typically things that one has to explain or come to terms with. Just hearing Kim say all of this was difficult. It is terrible to think that there are people in the world who can do this to other people, people who have families and loved ones. I know there are many people who have mixed feelings about Kim Kardashian. I am personally a huge fan of hers, but after hearing her story I commend her so much more. She was able to overcome such a traumatizing event and share it with the world. Although Keeping Up With the Kardashians may seem like any other reality TV show, the Paris episode is by far one of the most raw episodes in reality TV that I have ever seen.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
