At the end of January, artist Bobby Ray Simmons, commonly referred to as B.o.B, publicly announced via Twitter that he believes the Earth is flat.
I'm going up against the greatest liars in history ... you've been tremendously deceived
— B.o.B (@bobatl) January 26, 2016
Once you go flat, you never go back
— B.o.B (@bobatl) January 26, 2016
His recent influx of Tweets regarding the shape of the Earth were foreshadowed in the weeks leading up to them, with tweets beginning in early December.
the deception is so deep... like... it's literally deep within the earth
— B.o.B (@bobatl) December 10, 2015
It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled.
— B.o.B (@bobatl) December 17, 2015
2016 will most definitely be an eye-opening year
— B.o.B (@bobatl) December 21, 2015
He began to post more specific tweets in early January.
I think a modern day moon landing would expose too many inconsistencies with the last one, #whywehaventgoneback https://t.co/6M93snXw1E

what is NASA gonna tell the world when they find out 🤔 — B.o.B (@bobatl) January 14, 201
NASA gon be like ...On the same day, B.o.B followed his tweets with a bit of an explanation.
— B.o.B (@bobatl) January 14, 2016
I know a lot of people don't exactly understand all my tweets, but I'm not crazy... in time all will be explained n my music
— B.o.B (@bobatl) January 14, 2016
The artist has recently been posting photos of his proof that the earth is flat to Twitter.
The cities in the background are approx. 16miles apart... where is the curve ? please explain this
— B.o.B (@bobatl) 25, 2016
In response to this, world famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson tweeted a response.
@bobatl Earth's curve indeed blocks 150 (not 170) ft of Manhattan. But most buildings in midtown are waaay taller than that.
— Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson) January 25, 2016
Later on that same day, B.o.B dropped a dis track called "Flatline."
Warning: This video contains explicit language.
However, this track did not stop the astrophysicist, who then collaborated with his nephew, Soundcloud artist TYSON to release his own a sick dis track the following day.
Dear @bobatl, as an astrophysicist I don’t rap, but I know people who do. This one has my back: https://t.co/BbMi4tzHLz
— Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson) January 26, 2016
Tyson summed up the battle with a mic-drop worthy statement at the end of his track, stating "Dude– To be clear, being five centuries regressed in your reasoning doesn't mean we all can't still like your music."
