These past ten years fostered some great albums in the genre of rap.
1. "2014 Forest Hills Drive" by J. Cole
J.Cole is such a good musician, and this is the album that got me into him. The storytelling throughout the songs is constructed in such a creative way that doesn't make this sound like a typical rap album. He brings in different elements of different genres that makes his sound appealing to people who aren't necessarily rap fans. The album itself has a lot of songs that make you think about things from a different
2. "F*CK LOVE" by The Kid LAROI
There are very few newer rap albums that I like in their entirety, and this is one of them. His sound is a super unique mix of Post Malone, Juice World, and XXXTENTACION. He has a really cool sound and each of his songs make you feel what he's feeling. He is so young and yet has so much understanding of the world. This album has hit after a hit of it and I've definitely had it on repeat a lot recently.
3. "Coloring Book" by Chance The Rapper
Chance is such a unique sounding artist. I can't think of a musician that sounds quite like him and that's what makes him so fun to listen to. His music crosses over different genre lines and that always keeps you on your toes. He brings in a lot of really cool aspects in his production and creates a different sounding work each time.
4. "The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story" by Jaden
Jaden is another really unique artist. his R&B/ Rap album gives me such relaxing vibes. He is a lot like Frank Ocean in the way his production and lyrics are so intricate and detailed. He creates a mysteriously philosophical world within his albums and I think that is a really cool approach.
