If I Ran The World

Here's what I would do.

It would be a big responsibility and honor to run the world. If I were chosen to rule the world, I would do many things. The first thing I would do is invent a program that saves all of your copy and pastes. Why hasn't someone come up with that yet? Next, I would make sure that everyone has shelter, food and clean water. I would take money from the rich because, honestly, other people need that money more.

Next, I would improve the environment. I would ban all of the harmful ingredients in the food we eat. Why is it allowed in our food when it's not good for us? It's not like I would get rid of desserts and other not-so-healthy treats, only the harmful ingredients. I would also make sure all of the crops are organic, and not sprayed with pesticides, or whatever they use to make it "better." I would also designate patrol squads all around the world to pick up trash from beaches and parks, because littering isn't doing any good for anybody.

I would also implement a universal language. I would make the universal language Spanish or English, because a lot of people already know it. I wouldn't get rid of the other languages, though. In my world, kids would learn two languages, one that their parents already know, and either Spanish or English. For the people that already know Spanish or English, they can choose another language to learn. It's a good way for us to communicate with each other. This would be enforced in schools. I would also make education free because it's important to be educated. In order to make it far in society, you need to be well educated, and I don't believe in paying money for wanting to learn.

The last thing I would do is take some of the rich people's money again (sorry rich people, you'll be fine) and take it and put it into exploring space and our oceans. I think it's a very important part of life, and even though we know a lot already, we don't know nearly enough. Putting that money into furthering technology can help us explore those places, and would be beneficial for all of us. I'm sure I could come up with a lot of other things to change or do with the world, but these would be the things I would do. This is a total hypothetical situation, and there's probably never going to be a leader of the world, but if there were one, and if I happened to be chosen for it, this is what I would do.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
