The Biebs is back and better than ever. He has come a long way since he released his first single, "One Time," over six years ago. Justin started out as a young teen pop sensation, then turn into a supposed "bad-boy," and is now reformed into a young adult with a new attitude. With his new music and a new outlook on life, it looks like he is here to stay. While I have always been a fan of his music, I wasn't a full on "Belieber" until I read his recent interview with Complex. He talked about his new album, his night in jail, past heartaches, and got deep with his faith. Here is my opinion of the top quotes from his interview that everyone needs to read:
On Growing Up
1. "Now, I went through my 'stuff', I came out on the other side, and I’m going to show you it gets better."
2. "Also, I can drink now. So I have a few drinks every now and then."
On Being Yourself
3. "I’m just gonna be myself and if they don’t like it, they don’t like it. I move on."
4. "My voice, I’m not gonna let it not be heard anymore. I’m gonna use my voice for a reason"
On Love and Relationships
5. "Your girl or your dude, they’re always going to disappoint you. Your full identity can’t be in that person."
6. "Love is a choice. Love is not a feeling."
7. "You’re not gonna want to love your girl, sometimes, but you’re gonna choose to love her."
On Faith and Christianinty
8. "I got to lean on God. I gotta trust in him through all my situations."
9. "I, personally, love Jesus and that was my salvation."
10. "I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus—I could never—I don’t want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind."
11. "We have the greatest healer of all and his name is Jesus Christ. And he really heals."
12. "Sometimes when I don’t feel like doing something, but I know it’s right, I remember, I’m pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don’t have to feel what we should have to feel."
13. "It should be just like a personal relationship. Like, 'Hey, I love you because you first loved me'.”
14. "It doesn’t make you a Christian just by going to church. I think that going to church is fellowship, it’s relationship, it’s what we’re here on the earth to do, to have this connection that you feel there’s no insecurities. I think that’s where we need to be."
On Faith and Tacos
15. "Like I said, you don’t need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn’t make you a taco."
