Dear Hate,
You're an evil little thing. You take away the sunshine and unleash the monsters and despicableness in the world. You ruin the moments, start the fires, you end lives and make people cry. You are nobody's friend, and for that, you feel the need to get revenge.
Dear Violence,
You've solved nothing. You help no one and hurt everyone. You cause bruises and scars and start fighting and wars. You hurt in the innocent and inflict pride among the guilty. You call yourself redemption and retaliation, but no one deserves the pain you give.
Dear Guns,
You were never for self-defense. No one in this country needs an assault rifle to get through the day. No one needs multiple assault rifles to get through the day. You should never be the winner of an argument. Your purpose is to wound and to kill not to protect or to battle.
Dear Time,
You no longer heal all wounds. You only speed or slow before the next disaster kicks in. You are a blessing, yet we misuse you. We don't do well with you, we waste you until there's nothing left for you to give to us.
Dear Victims,
I'm sorry other humans have hurt you. I wish there was some way I could make things better. I guess me writing this is my way of trying. You didn't deserve this. No one ever deserves this.
Dear Congress,
Fix your laws. They say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well it sure as hell is broken, so you better go ahead and fix it. I am ashamed that you are our leaders and our elected government officials. You are nothing more than wasted propaganda for the useless government we are being led by. In school, if you do nothing when another child is being bullied, you are labeled the bystander, who is just as at fault. I don't see how this is any different. You can make a change, so do it.
Dear Trump,
You have never been my president, and if you continue to act the way you do (which I can only assume that you will), you never will be. Your words disgust me, your actions terrify me, and your inability to help and support those in need hurts me. You are not a leader. You are a washed up bankrupt businessman with lots of money and lots of hate on the inside. I don't like you at all.
Dear Humans,
We are the future. We are tomorrow. We can turn things around. We can donate blood. We can write and call our congressmen. We can change the freaking world. Let's do it.
Dear Love,
I know we can be better. I know we will be better. Something's gotta give. You're gonna conquer all.
Sincerely,
Emily
