Now before you ask anything, listen up! Close your eyes and think of all the people you meet in your life onto a day to day basis. Go through your mind's catalog of people, names, and, most importantly, your thoughts about every single one of them. Think of those people you see as weird, off-the-cuff, or even annoying. You may not like these people or seem to stay away from them at all costs because they are unusual. I want to ask is why do you do that? Why do seem to think that way about a person who doesn't follow a certain social norm? Why are we so judgmental about how a single person doesn't fit into a social group?
Regardless of who you are, think about what that person's perspective on life may be. They aren't afraid to show the side of them that doesn't have a trendy haircut, the latest Nike sneakers, and a bunch of followers on Instagram or Snapchat. They don't feel the stress to follow a certain behavior pattern or look a certain way so that their friends accept them. Quirky people have a sense of their true self and won't change their outlook on life even if an earthquake shakes them.
As a fellow quirky person, I feel that we all can say that we share seven common traits.
We see the side of a story not visible to the naked eye.

Ask one of your friends who aren't a part of any particular social group to join yours, I can guarantee you hands-down that he or she will come to learn the aura of the group. You may see your group of friends as awesome, and that you guys will be together till the end of time. We can easily pinpoint if the members of the group are supportive of you. Sure they laugh at you when you pull a prank, but do they take the blame for convincing you to do it? These are the types of things we see and ask as we watch from the outside.
We are not afraid to be brutally honest!
Want our honest opinion on something, be prepared to get the most brutal response on it. We don't feel the need to impress anyone since we not a part of any particular group. If you are our friend, we will make sure that you know what we think about, whether it's a dress, a hairstyle, or even a project. We don't like to flatter anyone; we provide criticism and compliments when they are well-deserved!
We accept everyone easily with their flaws.

Since we are considered social "outcasts" to most of our peers, we don't usually don't care that much about other people's flaws. I know for a fact that my friends feel confident to be themselves around me from the way we can sit and talk for hours about literally anything that comes to mind. Quirky people are themselves all the time; we, in return, make others feel comfortable in their skin.
We are the most loyal friends and can keep a secret for our friends.
Sometimes gossiping can get too annoying for some of us. But, if you're a part of a large group of people, some way or other people will find out your flaws or mistakes. Many times, people share their secrets with quirky people who don't feel the need to join the huge party of gossip-mongers. We keep to ourselves most of the time and don't like to become like anyone else. No need to impress anyone, no need to share anything. We will always be there for you from afar, and you can rest head on our shoulder.
We go against the current, and do the most unusual things in life.
The colloquial definition of quirky is "unusual but cool." That is not only a symbol of who we are but also of the actions we complete. Most girls who come from my background don't usually see Welding as something cool to do. In fact, many of them are scared to come near a welder. Being quirky and weird gives the freedom to do anything and accomplish anything! I find welding to be one of my many quirks, but the list is endless! Don't do what others do in life, do what satisfies your needs and desires.
Nothing ever stops us from working hard and staying focused!
Since we don't usually keep friends who distract us from our target goal or hold us back, we are more inclined to pursue our future. Have you ever had one of those days when your distractor friends tell to go out and party instead of helping you stay on task? Yeah, we usually don't have to deal with such nonsense, because most of us don't keep such friends with us. Our friends may be weird to the rest of the world, but to us, they are amazing individuals who respect our goals in life and understand the importance of work.
Our beauty isn't high heels and manicured nails, it's passion and intelligence.

This is one is for my quirky girls!
I have met girls who come to high school with perfect "no makeup" makeup, straightened hair, and stilettos walk down the halls like a boss. But we don't need wing our liner every single day, instead, we try to build our next invention. For us, it is most important to stand out as the female in outer space or STEM than to be a popular girl in school. We debate over the sciences, rage over politics, and invent the future for our successors. We are more than what meets the eye, and we are proud of it!
