Ah, the first few weeks of May... every student is anxiously awaiting summer while still trying to get through finals. It's a time where not only the stress levels are rising, but the temperatures as well, and with rising temperatures comes sweat. Sweat and stress- sounds like a breakout waiting to happen. But have no fear! Here are my summer skin care tricks that keep my skin clear and glowing all summer.

Everyone has a different skin type, and products that work best for them and their skin. I have a mix of oily and dry skin; my cheeks being dry and my T-zone being oily. I tend to lean even more towards the oily side especially in the summer. Although I don't suffer from frequent breakouts or severe acne (thank goodness), I still get pimples every now and then. So, hopefully out of all of these products at least one thing can help you!

1. Wash face daily with Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser

Every morning and night I wash my face with this cleanser. It's very easy on the skin and even moisturizes it slightly. It keeps the dirt, oils and sweat out of my pores, and is especially refreshing after a long day outside. I highly recommend for any skin type!

2. Scrub Lush's Ocean Salt on your face

Every other morning (usually MWF) I take the time out to use a facial scrub. This one from Lush isn't too rough, yet it does just the job of getting deep into my pores and scrubbing away all of the dead skin and impurities. Not only does it work wonders, but it smells amazing. It also doesn't dry out my face too much like some exfoliants. It just leaves it feeling fresh and smooth.

3. Tone your face with Clean and Clear's Acne Stress Control toner

Toning after a scrub is the real deal for me. It leaves my skin feeling cool and refreshed every time, and that feels even better on summer mornings before a day out! Unlike some toners, this product does not leave my face feeling dry and hard. It makes it feel even softer, especially after a scrub. It really keeps the redness in my face down and stops pimples from emerging as soon as they try to show up.

4. Layer Lush's Cup O' Coffee on your face

Lush has outdone themselves again. This face mask smells (and tastes) exactly like coffee! This mask infused with coffee beans really helps cleans out your pores and get rid of dirt from a day's makeup and sweat. I use this product once or twice a week on days I can tell my skin needs a little extra help. Leave it on for 10 minutes and just relax!

5. Moisturize with Belief's Aqua Bomb

If you chose to buy any product from this list, this one be it! I have used so many different moisturizers the past few years and this one works best by far. Its light, and full of moisturizer. Every morning and night I dip my finger in twice and it covers my whole face. It doesn't make my skin feel heavy, and certainly does not clog my pores! This keeps pimples off of my face and makes me feel light and airy every day.

There you have it! My everyday skin care routine. I swear by all of these products; they're the saving grace of my face. I hope you found this helpful!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
