It seems that Lilly Pulitzer for Target has taken the entire sorority world by storm. Actually, by hurricane or tornado would be more like it. While girls stood outside Target stores nationwide to fight each other tooth and nail for the summer, I'm still sitting here confused by the entire concept.
1. Why so much color?
I have never seen so many variations of neon pink and green in my life. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a little pop of pink every once and a while. But, really? Every neon pastel smashed together in one pattern? It's all a little too much for a girl who's main colors in her closet are black and grey.
2. What are with these agendas?
Yes, I will admit that I have owned a Lilly agenda at one point in my life. But every time I pulled it out, I just thought to myself, "why did I buy this?". Some how I would always spill coffee over all the pages, accidentally rip out complete weeks, and pull out the spiral of the agenda until it was basically an oxymoron for using it to plan out my life. And on another note-- can we just talk about those little stickers that come with the planner? Are you actually supposed to use the stickers for "me day" and "weekend getaway"? Either my life is very boring, or these stickers have a very impractical use. Let's be real, a weekend getaway in college is a long nap after a term paper is due, not a tropical cruise.
3. At what point is it too much?
Do you really need matching Lilly sunglasses, highlighters, pencils, pens, scarves, and bedspread set? Because at some point I think you just might start going slightly cross eyed.
4. Do you actually like it, or do you think you should like it?
This can actually be said about the majority of popular trends today. I am for trying out new looks, but you can put down the pastel and walk away if you want to, just saying.
5. What are with the sorority prints?
Girls go mad crazy over trying to get their sorority an official Lilly print. I'm still not really sure why because they legitimately all look the same to me. But hey, keep on sharing those links for people to vote for your sorority on Facebook, I'm sure you'll get there one day.
6. Is this actually practical?
As much as I would love to buy beach towels, flip flops, and sundresses for every moment of summer-- I sadly do not live at the beach, and I would much rather prefer a baseball hat and a T-shirt.
