Many people today are so engaged in their phone and social media that they don’t live their lives away from the comfort of a screen whether it be a phone or a tv or laptop. I am going to give you some valid reasons to put your phone down and live in the moment.
1. Talk to New People.
Many times we sit on our phones in public or even when we are sitting right across from friends or family. Put the phone down. You could make new friends you never expected to make or make new memories with the ones you love. Not everything social related should be happening on your phone. Have conversations and actually talk and get to know them that is how unexpected friendships are made.
2. Experience More Things.
By sitting on your phone you don’t do as many things that you should do. Instead of hanging out with friends and maybe going bowling you sit on your phone and look at the latest pictures posted and gossip about that. If you put the phone away though you could go bowling or play cards and laugh and have a good time with your friends maybe even experiencing something you never thought you would.
3. Go on New Adventures.
Instead of sitting on your phone in your house, get out of your house and go new places. Go to a park and adventure and see new things. Go on a bike ride or even just go to the mall and walk around. Get your eyes away from the screen and see new things. Adventure is out there you just have to find it.
4. Create New Stories.
By being away from your phone you can make new memories with friends and family that will last a lifetime. You will not be able to make these memories if your eyes are constantly looking at the screen. Maybe you and your friends decide to make dinner and accidentally the dinner making process becomes a food fight. That’s ok, your having fun and you will probably remember that dinner for years after.
5. Find New Interests.
If you are always on your phone you cannot discover what you are good at or what you enjoy doing. You will always be wrapped up in the world doing things while you just sit on your phone. Put the phone down and go kick a soccer ball around or draw a picture who knows you could be good at it.
6. Be You.
If you never get off your phone you will never truly know you. you will spend your time obsessing over what somebody wore while you sit in your room. Go out and discover you and have fun because you are worth discovering. So put your phone down. Live in the moment and be you!
