When coming to college almost all girls are considering going Greek, most of them because growing up they have seen a movie and see all the fun that a sorority looks like. I, myself, see my friends who joined one last year having fun and making lifetime friends and wanna see how that feels. Before I make big decisions like this, I make a pro's and cons list. So, this is mine.

Pro: You will have sisters for life

https://www.readunwritten.com/2016/01/12/7-sorority-secrets-insider/

These are going to be your go-to girls for everything! They will be there when you need to talk or even just there when you don't want to be alone. This seems like one of the best things about joining because I hate to be alone. I love always having people to hang out with, and this is your chance to get those people.

Con: Time management will be tested

http://sisterhoodredefined.blogspot.com/2015/08/sorority-recruitment-prepares-you-for.html

You are expected to study and do well in school. There are GPA requirements to join sororities, it is not just one big party. There are optional events but there are lots of mandatory events that you have to fit into your schedule. Get a planner and make sure to write everything down.

Pro: You have study buddies

You might have a sister that is the same major as you but an upperclassman, so they have taken the classes you are taking and can help you study and help you get through your classes. Everyone is trying to keep their grades up so you have endless study buddies.

Con: Dues

There is a financial responsibility that comes with Greek Life. The amount isn't a one time fee. Some people cannot afford to spend extra money, so this is something to consider. The amount and how many times money is paid is different at every school/ sorority.

Pro: Career Connections

https://www.monster.com/career-advice/article/rushing-fraternity-sorority-help-you-land-job-0916

When you join a chapter, you have an endless network of women all across the nation in all sorts of career fields. This opens your career and advice network tremendously. Your chapter alumni will be there to help you, and your chapter may even have events that will help you talk to some alumni.

Con: People will stereotype

https://www.theodysseyonline.com/10-biggest-sorority-stereotypes

When people think of Greek Life, not all people think nice and warm things. It's important to form your own opinion and know that every chapter does recruitment differently. Try to see what makes one sorority different from another one. Make sure that chapter aligns with your values.

Pro: Philanthropy

https://sigmakappa.org/about-us/philanthropy/

Most chapters do some sort of community service called philanthropy. You raise money and donate your time to your chapter's philanthropy, and it just brings you back down to earth and lets you know you are doing good for the world.

Con: People can be mean

https://news.umich.edu/mean-girls-at-college-social-whirl-derails-many-study-finds/

There is a high possibility that not every girl in the chapter will like each other. People can be mean and don't always do the best things. They might start rumors and turn everyone against you just because they don't like you. This can really hurt your experience If you joined to make friends.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
