The most stressful time of the year is upon us. Yup, it’s finals, my friends. If you’re like me you’ve probably spent multiple hours calculating and tabulating what grade you need to pass (or even ace) your classes instead of well...actually studying for those classes. If this is a situation you also find yourself in at the end of each semester, then this is the perfect read for you! Here’s five easy and definitely fool-proof steps to getting you through this hell week from one procrastinator to another.

Step 1: Get comfy.

You can’t study if you’re uncomfortable, right? Find that perfect comfy and cute outfit. Go through your closet and try on at least three different outfit combos. Pick the perfect one and then five minutes later decide it’s not so perfect and repeat the process.

Step 2: Look for music to get the brain going.

How do you expect to study if you don’t have some awesome tunes to jam out to while scrambling through spark notes to “read” all of the books you didn’t read earlier in the semester? I suggest stalking all of your friends' Spotify playlists till you find the perfect one to get you in the study mood. Or if you’re really dedicated to setting the perfect study vibes, then spend a little over an hour creating your own perfect study playlist.

Step 3: Find the perfect study place.

Whether it’s a quaint little coffee shop or the dead silence of Evan's sixth floor; find the place that gets those study juices flowing. Literally, try every single place you can think of in College Station, making sure to spend at least five minutes at each to feel out the vibe. Then, once you found your scholastic home away from home, realize you left all of your study guides on your bed and go home.

Step 4: Make a study agenda.

Now that you’ve got the perfect study vibes, it’s time to get organized. Because you know you will procrastinate, what better way to keep your life together than spending time creating a study planner? Plan out the rest of your time in between now and your finals to study for all of your tests. Don’t forget to pay extra attention to detail and take a while to color coordinate your agenda too. Once you’re done with the study agenda you’re probably going to realize you spent so much time creating it that you are now off schedule and have to make a new one.

Step 5:It’s flash card time!

You are finally ready to study… you think. There’s no better way to learn than to make flash cards that you are planning to go over and memorize at least 10 times. The best way to get the most information from flashcards is to make super detailed cards. I mean detailed to the point of if your words aren’t in a straight line, might as well remake them. Sloppy notes mean sloppy studying and if you’ve learned anything from reading this, you are not a sloppy studier. You must prep yourself for the A. So spend as long as you possibly need (even if that means till two hours before the test) to make those flash cards.

Now that you’ve finished these five steps it’s probably 3 in the morning before your first test and you realize you're off on your study schedule, you’ve spilled coffee on your shirt, your playlist is through and you're about to get booted from where you're studying because it's closing. But, on the bright side, the only thing in between you and that rockin' test grade is an all-nighter, cramming four months of information into five hours and the last minute panic to find a scantron. Good luck my fellow procrastinators and just remember to keep your head up, because C’s get degrees.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
