Problem In Making Our Own Plans

"There is security in relying in the fact that if we are in his will, God’s got it."

I have become accustomed to planning exactly how each event in my life is going to go, detail by detail. Heck, I have the caption picked out before I even take pictures. Whenever my plans (often) do not go as planned, I find myself disappointed. Life wasn’t designed this way.

Through this I have learned: anything in which we lean on is our own understanding ends in the same thing: heartbreak. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t set any goals or create dreams for ourselves, but that God should be at the center of these. Trust me I know, it’s so easy to become so occupied that we don’t think to include God into our plans, and then convenient to blame him for every curve ball.

There is security in relying on the fact that if we are in his will, God’s got it. No matter what “it” may be. Plans change daily, and we must find comfort when things-well, fall apart. Because let me tell you. They do. Just when everything seems to be golden, boom, your dream outcome vanished. Perhaps this is when God shows us his handiwork. Whenever our plans crumble, he picks up the pieces and creates a masterpiece.

Have faith that his plan for you is greater than your wildest dreams. If you're reading this, he's not finished with you yet, find rest in that.

"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.” -Matthew 6:34 NIV

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
